TITLE: FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS
Pairing: Abby/Tony
Rating: 16+
Prompt: Tony's face in 'Caught on tape' when Abby asks Kate if she's ever slept with a friend before.
Spoilers: End of Caught on tape. No part of the ep is spoiled in this fic.
Author's note: Written for Cassy as a prize on NFA Hangman game.
It's not any good.

“Please tell me you have something better than that, if you truly expect me to sleep with you tonight.” The woman said giving the man a smile for his effort.
“Of course. Let me buy you a drink.” The charming man said not at all dejected by her attitude.
“A start.” She said nodding her approval. “Now what can I call you?”
“It’s Anthony DiNozzo. Call me Tony.” He said charmingly.
“Abby.” She said extending her hand. That is when he got a look at two more tattoos.
“Let me start over.” Tony said. “You are definitely the most dashing woman in the whole room.” He said looking over her dress. It was all black, with a tight corset waist and extremely short skirt.
“Thank you.”

“So, what do you do?” He asked between kisses as she pushed open the door to her apartment.
“Do you really care?” Abby asked pushing him down onto her bed.
“Um… no. I just thought… never mind.” He added, removing her dog collar to get better access to her neck. “Abby?”
“What?” She asked, wondering if he always talked so much during foreplay.
“Are we in a coffin?”
“Yeah. Pretty hot, huh?” She asked, slowly licking his neck until she felt a shudder.
“Definitely.”

When Abby woke up, the ‘mystery Tony’ was gone. Usually how she liked one night stands to end. Nothing worse than the awkward morning after. However, she didn’t get much time to forget the man.

“Abs, meet our new agent. Anthony DiNozzo.” Gibbs introduced as the men entered her lab.
“Call me Tony.” The man said, shaking her hand. Abby registered her shock very quickly and then got over it so Gibbs didn’t see it.
“Hi. I’m Abby.” She responded, realizing that he was acting like this was their first meeting. She had no problem with doing the same thing. “You must be Burley’s replacement?” She added conversationally.
“I guess so.”
“Welcome to the team.”
“Thanks.”
“Abs, we have no active cases, so after you finish your paperwork, go home and get some sleep. Tony and I are with security, getting his ID.” Gibbs interrupted.
“Yay. Thanks Bossman.”

“So, this is where you work?” Tony asked, catching up with Abby walking to her car.
“You too.”
“That’s true. Look, I…”
“I’m fine that you left this morning with no intention of calling me again.” She interrupted. “And for me there will be no problem working together.”
“That’s good. Me neither.”
“Good. And should, what happened last night, happen again…that would be fine with me.”
“Me too.” Tony agreed, adding his trademark smile.
“However, now you’re part of Gibbs’ team.” Abby said.
“Yeah?”
“And he has rules. Possibly the most important rule is Rule 12.” Abby started.
“Do tell.” He said leaning against her car.
“You’ll know soon enough. All you need to know is, no one can know about…” She said pointing between them. “… us.”
“Fine with me.”
“I think we’ll get along just fine, DiNozzo.”

“Tell him Abby.” Kate prompted, after years of working with the team.
“What Kate? You never slept with a friend before?” She said smirking. Tony looked away before the profiler side of Kate realized what he was shy about.

Abbyforever
Am I the last sane person in the world?~ CHAPTER 2

TITLE: Am I the last sane person in the world?
Rating: PG 13
Spoilers: None
Pairing: Abby/McGee
Warnings: Silly craziness that is yet to be explained. And may never be. Here is a general warning for all my fics. This writer is INSANE herself.
Author's notes: Enjoy!

CHAPTER 2:

“Where to?” The cab-driver asked as he pulled up along side Abby.
“NCIS HQ.”
“Okay.”

“Can I help you?” A tall blonde woman asked when Abby walked into the lab. The team was missing from their desks so they were probably were on a case.
“You’re in my lab.” Abby spat out at the woman.
“Oh, hey Mrs. McGee.”
“It’s Abby Sciuto.” Abby corrected. “Where are Gibbs, and the rest of the team?”
“On their way back from a scene.” She asked. “Did you and Tim have a fight.”
“Of course not. Everything is freakin’ peachy.” She said as she left the lab. “How long have you been here?”
“Three years.”

“Gibbs, I need your help.” Abby said when she arrived in the squad-room. Tony and Ziva were missing from their desks.
“What’s the matter? I just spoke to McGee. What did he do now?” Gibbs asked.
“Nothing. I don’t know.” She stuttered. “I need your help.”
“With what?”
“I don’t know what’s happening to me.” She said sitting down in front of his desk. “All this…” She said looking down at herself. “It’s not me. There’s something insane going on here and McGee doesn’t see it.”
“I can’t really see what the problem is, Abs.” He said looking where she was.
“Oh, Gibbs. Not you too.” She said putting her hands over her ears as she went for the stairs. She had to get away from everyone.

“Cynthia, the Director in her office?” Abby asked as she approached the assistant.
“Yes, Mrs. McGee. I’ll let her know you’re here.”
“Do me a favor, Cynthia. Don’t call me that.”
“Um, okay.”

“Abby. How you doing?” Jen asked, taking her glasses off her face and standing to greet the other woman.
“Not good. I need help.”
“I’m flattered, but not sure why you came to me. Is it to do with your job here? Because you know that’s secure.”
“No, it’s not that. Although, that’s one less worry for me.” Abby said sitting down. “I am going to tell you something and you’re going to think I am losing my mind. But I don’t know how to deal with this.”
“What is it?” Jen asked.
“What is today’s date?”
“What?”
“Today. What’s the date?”
“October 20.”
“It’s the same. What year?”
“Abby, what is this about?”
“Please, Jen.” Abby begged.
“2012.” She said simply, starting to genuinely worry about Abby.
“No. That’s not possible.”
“What?”
“Okay. I am going to tell you a something, and you have to follow me. No matter how crazy you think I am right now.”
“Alright.”
“When I went to sleep last night, it was October 19th. 2006.” Jen opened her mouth to say something, but paused, when Abby put her hand up. “I don’t know how to prove it, or why it happened. And I am so confused. But it’s true.”
“Um, okay.”
“I have no idea what has happened, why I have no memory of the last six years. But I remember everything before that like it was yesterday. We had just finished working the Petty Officer Andrews case. I was supposed to go out with friends, but left here too late so I just went home to bed.”
“I vaguely remember that case.”
“After that, nothing. I woke up this morning with the headache I usually have after a heavy drinking night with two little girls jumping on me calling me Mommy.”
“You don’t even remember your children?”
“Make me feel worse, why don’t you?”
“Maybe you should see a doctor. You might have hit your head or something.” Jen suggested.
“I went to bed. I woke up… like this.” Abby said dramatically pointing to her swollen abdomen. “Plus, for that kind of memory loss, something really big should have happened, like when Gibbs was blown up last month.”
“Six years ago. But anyway.”
“So, don’t you think I would be injured in some way, or someone in my life would know what happened?”
“This can be explained, I’m sure.”
“I think something may be wrong with me. I’m slowly going insane.” She ranted as she walked out of the office.

Abbyforever

The Devil's Music

TITLE: THE DEVIL'S MUSIC
Rating: 16+
Spoilers: Supernatural, season one. A little. NCIS~ Twilight (Abby ESP thing from several eps. Proven the greatest at the end of Twilight)
Pairing: Abby/Dean history.
Warnings: Supernatural themes. If you don't like them, don't read it. This is an NCIS/Supernatural crossover.
Author's notes: I made a banner for this fic.

CHAPTER 1.

“Why exactly are we going to D.C?” Sam asked as they walked to Dean’s ‘67 Impala.
“Told you. Got a call about a series of murders that appear to fall under our area of expertise.”
“And this call was by who exactly?”
“An old friend of mine, Abby Sciuto. She’s a scientist with the only federal agency we haven’t forged ID’s for.” Dean said vaguely.
“By old friend you mean?”
“A friend that isn’t new.”
“Is that all she was?”
“No, but that’s not the point. She asked for my help, and I told her we’d be on the way.”
“And how does she know what we do? I never told Jess anything.”
“Well, my sweet little brother. You’re apparently not the only person that has dreams that come true.”
“This Abby? She does it too?” Sam asked curiously.
“Sometimes. But only when she’s asleep. Not like you. You’re a freak.”

“Abby Sciuto?” Dean asked when they entered her lab. The music was so loud he wasn’t surprised that she didn’t hear them come in. Still nothing, so he went behind her cautiously and tapped her shoulder, knowing what could happen if he scared her.
“Wha…?” She asked whipping around, her pigtails smacking his face. “One sec.” She added, running over to her stereo to turn it down. Sam was immediately dizzy.
“Well, she’s just a bundle of energy.” He commented.
“Oh, little brother. You have no idea.”
“How’d you get in the building without me knowing?” Abby asked firstly.
“These.” Dean said holding up FBI badges.
“Well, if it isn’t the most handsome demon hunter ever.” She said looking at Dean then whipping her head toward Sam. “And you’re pretty cute too, Dean.”
“Very funny.”
“Oh, I like you already.” Sam said laughing.
“Well, are you just going to stand there?” Abby asked Dean. “Hug me.”
“Okay.” He said to Sam’s surprise. Dean didn’t do physical affection. As soon as he let her go though, she was in Sam’s arms. And he didn’t feel the need to resist her either. He prayed she wasn’t some kind of evil entity because she seemed to already have all power over the Winchester boys.
“And you must be Sammy.” Abby interjected, still in his arms.
“Sam. Yes.”
“Abby Sciuto.” Abby said. “Welcome to DC. How you finding it so far?” She asked both of them.
“Same old.” Dean answered. “Although I am getting used to driving on dirt roads into under-populated little towns.”
“Still driving that old Impala?”
“Old?” He gasped. “Who you calling old? My baby’s a classic.”
“So, what about you, Sam. How come I didn’t meet you last time?”
“I would have been at college still.”
“Studying?”
“Law.”
“Nice. An intellectual. What happened to you, Dean?”
“Again with the comedy.”

“So, last time I was here you had a little pest problem.”
“What kind of pests?” Sam asked.
“Just a small pack of vampires.” Abby said, as if it was the most natural thing to be talking about. Although, after Sam got over the initial shock that this gothic Lolita could actually work in a federal building, she did remind him of a vampire in many ways. Her talking about supernatural beings didn’t seem as strange.
“That’s all?” He asked sarcastically.
“There were only five of them.” Abby justified.
“What happened?”
“Dean and I were at an undercover nightclub eloquently called ‘The Graveyard’.” Abby started.
“Great club. Other than the whole vampire thing.” Dean added.
“That was pretty cool though.” Abby said. She turned to Dean who was already smiling at her.
“Did you two want me to leave?” Sam asked as he noticed the moment.
“Yes.” Dean said instantly.
“Don’t be silly, Sammy.” She protested.
“Seems, this creepy guy named Sway wanted to steal Abby away from me.”
“And Dean wouldn’t have that. Blood thirst or not.” Abby laughed.
“That’s right.” He said standing impossibly taller. “I don’t play that.”
“Yeah.”
“So, what are we doing here, Abs?” Dean asked, finally getting back on topic.
“I had a dream. Actually several. All week.” Abby started, and for the first time, the smile disappeared from her face.
“What was it?” Sam asked, finally seeing how strange it looked from the outside.
“It was me. Killing an innocent. A guy I work with named McGee. We used to date and we are on and off etc. But the point is, I killed him.” She rattled off. “Violently.”
“So, what are you thinking? Shape shifter, demonic possession…?” Dean asked.
“Don’t know. I called you here to figure it out. Or if need be… kill me. If it comes to that, no one here could do it, and I know you could.”

Abbyforever

TITLE: Mother: Part 3 chapter 13
Rating: 16+
Spoilers: None but the mission thing was from season four, any ep after Shalom.
Pairing: Abby/Tony, Kate/OMC
Warnings: Death etc etc , swearing
Author's notes: This may seem abrupt but it needed to have a realistic timeline.
One quote stolen from Men in black. Another from Boxed in.

CHAPTER 13.

“Have you heard anything?” Abby asked as soon as Gibbs walked into her house. Any time someone came to see her, they had to have information otherwise they would be promptly kicked out of the place. She didn’t want compassion, she wanted answers.
“No.” He said simply.
“I am not working any cases right now, Gibbs. So, unless you have some news for me, I’m not sure really why you’re here.”
“You’re not answering your phone.”
“I don’t need to hear anyone else tell me how sorry they are or how much of a great man Tony was as if he’s dead.”
“Abs…”
“He is not dead.” She said walking away from him.

“Where is Abby? I went to her lab and everything is off and she wasn’t there.” Jen asked when Gibbs returned to the squad-room.
“Are you serious? How could you have not heard?” Gibbs asked, pissed off.
“What?”
“Unbelievable. You would think that the director of a federal agency would know what is going on with her best agents.”
“Special Agent Gibbs! What the hell is going on?”
“DNA got a match on the body of a man killed in a car accident this morning. It was Tony.”
“What?”
“So, naturally, Abby stayed at home and Nigel is there to help her. She is convinced that he’s alive and is determined to prove it.”
“He can’t be dead.”

“Honey, I’m home.” He called when he entered the house. It was cliché but suited his movie referring persona.
“Tony?”
“Expecting someone else? Hope you didn’t miss me too much.” He said trying to put his hands around her waist. Instead she punched him square in the face. “Ow. I guess not.”
“How could you do that to me?”
“What did I do?”
“Where the hell have you been?” She asked, not letting him touch her.
“I was doing something for the Director. I was going to explain once I got home but it went for about five hours longer than I expected.” He tried.
“Do that to me again, I’ll kill you myself.” She threatened.
“I still don’t know what I did. Did something happen to the girls cos I didn’t have my phone and…”
“They’re fine. Why didn’t you have your phone?”
“It’s a long story and I couldn’t carry anything else like that.”
“I thought you were dead! An officer came to door and I had to go to the morgue to identify you.” She yelled at him. She didn’t know whether to feel relieved that she was right, upset that he could have called her once and saved her a full day of grief and anger, or angry that he wasn’t grasping how big a deal it had been to her.
“Dead? You got rid of my DVD’s, didn’t you?” He asked, trying to lighten the mood. She punched him again, this time in the arm.
“So. Not. Funny. Anthony. DiNozzo!” Abby said angrily.
“Just kidding. Plus, I think you’ve been spending too much time with my mother.” He added. The look on her face told him that he’d crossed the line. She stormed off into the other room, and started calling people to tell them that he was not dead.

Within ten minutes, Maria DiNozzo stormed into the house to make sure that he was fine.
“Hi Mama.” He said when he saw her open the front door for herself. For once, she said nothing. Just smacked him hard over the back of the head. “Ow. Mama.”
“Complain and you’ll get another one. How could you do this to us? Where have you been?”
“I was working Mama. And I promise, it wont happen again.”
“Where’s Abby? Is she alright?”
“She’s fine. Just pissed off at me.”
“Good.” She snapped instantly, before pulling him into a crushing hug, not hiding the fact that she was glad her son was alive.
“Anyway. Other than that, I am trying to figure out why everyone was told that I was dead.”
“Abby even went to the morgue. You would think that federal officers would be a little more careful before declaring that people are dead and informing their family. When I find out who…”
“Mama, I have to talk to Abby and then go to work so they don’t make me take another physical to prove that I am alive again. I am glad that you’re glad that I’m alive. And I will gladly smack the person that said the DNA was mine. Don’t know what kind of lab they have but if Abby was there, that mistake would not have been made.”

“Hey, DiNozzo. I heard you were dead. You look good.” Agent Samuels said in passing.
“Thanks Rob. Pass it on. Getting a little freaked out by all the sympathy cards finding their way to my desk for Abby.”

“I don’t get it.” Abby finally said.
“Me neither.”
“The DNA matches.” She said not knowing what he was referring to. “It’s not a 100% match but you’re the closest match in the system.”
“Doesn’t mean much, though. Could be a distant cousin or something.” He tried.
“Not this close a match. Not even Michael or Harley would have a match this close to you. Trust me, we tried.”
“So, what are you saying? Maybe I am dead.” He said.
“That’s so not funny yet.” Abby added glaring at him. “I think I need to have a talk with your mother.”
“Words I never thought I’d hear you say willingly.” He joked. “What about?”
“What this evidence tells me is that you are either some kind of supernatural creature that can be in two places at once. Or you’re a twin. Which, she would know.”
“You think I’m a twin?” He asked, shocked.
“Identical twin, to be precise. I mean, if you saw this guy it would freak you out. Almost exact.”
“But you didn’t believe it was me?” Tony asked.
“Nope.”
“Forgiven?” He asked putting his arms out. She jumped into his embrace and hugged him with all her might.
“Yes.” She said with a kiss that left him wondering if such breathlessness could kill him. “I’m glad you’re not dead.”
“Me too.”

Abbyforever

TITLE: ALL THE THINGS SHE SAID (Aka, This is not enough)
SONG: All the things she said, by TaTu
AUTHOR: Abbyforever
PAIRING: Gabby
RATING: PG 13
SPOILERS: Hiatus
WARNINGS: Not really
AUTHORS NOTE: This is like my 5th Post Hiatus Gabby fic.

Have I crossed the line?

Gibbs asked himself as he pulled away from the forensic scientist. She was still a little thrown that he had kissed her but the smile that erupted on her face said that she wanted that as much as he did.
“This is not right.” He said more to himself than Abby. He bolted out of the lab as fast as he could and left Abby as confused as ever.
“Gibbs, wait.” She called after him but he was already gone.

And that is far as it ever went. After that he never went to her lab alone, and that stopped Abby from being able to bring the kiss up. He also stopped jokingly flirting with her, which upset her because all she wanted to tell him is that he didn’t do anything wrong and if he hadn’t kissed her then she would have kissed him first.

They say it's my fault but I want her so much

He knew that the only thing keeping him from being happy with Abby was rule 12. His rule 12 that he had made sure every agent he employed was aware of and saw the consequences of breaking it.

“Well, what’s the problem?” Ducky asked.
“Ducky, I can’t do it. Even if she wants it too, which I don’t think she does.” He said putting his face in his hands and scrubbing as if he could scrub away the feeling of uncertainty that he was not familiar with.
“What if she does want it? And you are just being too rigid to follow up on your actions. I mean, you did already get the hardest part over. She knows exactly how you feel now but you won’t let her talk to you about her feelings.” Ducky explained.
“Has she spoken to you?”
“Yes. You don’t talk to her alone anymore. You really need to talk to her.” He urged the other man, hinting that she felt the same about him.

This is not enough

She stood there as he dismissed her protests of his actions, with a single finger and kiss to the cheek. Looking at the tears forming in her eyes, hearing the desperation in the single request of his name, nearly changed his mind. Which is why he knew, that if she said anything else, this decision wouldn’t be final.

“Abs.” Tony tried as Abby chased the two men out of the squad-room. Abby knew that Ducky would do the best he could to convince Gibbs not to leave, but Abby also knew that with such a stubborn bastard, that the protests would be futile. He needed an equally stubborn creature to face off with.
“Let her go.” Ziva told him. She knew that look on Abby well enough now. She’d been slapped just after that look, and for some reason trusted that Abby would ‘knock’ some sense into the man.

“How can you do this?” She asked, running into the garage, just as Gibbs and Ducky started to open the car doors.
“Abs, you should go back inside.” He said tonelessly, even though he was feeling anything but emotionless inside.
“Don’t ‘Abs’ me and don’t tell me to go back inside either.” She screamed at him.
“Abigail.” Ducky tried.
“No, Ducky. I’m sorry but he’s a big boy, and he knows how wrong this is.”
“You just don’t get it Abby.” Gibbs said starting again for the car.
“You don’t know that.” She bit back and the tears that had been threatening to escape earlier were making their presence known. “This is not enough.” Abby said finally, pointing to the place on her cheek that he had placed that soft, yet heartbreaking kiss. With that she turned on her heel and slowly made her way back to the door, and the peace of her lab.

I keep closing my eyes but I can’t block you out.

He stood, doing one of the things he did best. With a tool in one hand and a piece of rough wood in the other, he squinted out at the sun. Somehow he then saw Abby, on the sand below, dressed in her usual attire, accompanied by the parasol and gloves she didn’t go out in the sun without. She smiled and vanished back into his mind.

“Probie, what in the hell are you smirking at?” Franks asked him.

Could I ever believe such a perfect surprise?

“Probie, get down here.” Franks said gruffly.
“What is it?”
“Just get here.” He said back.
“What?” Gibbs asked when he climbed down the ladder. Mike pointed out to a car that was approaching the house.
“Expecting company?”
“No. You?” Gibbs asked trying to see into the window.
“No one knows I am here.”
“No one knows I’m here either. But there is only one person that could figure out where I am.”

When they stop and stare - don't worry me

As Abby linked her arm with his, they fell instep with each other like they always had.

“I missed you, Abs.”
“Good.” She said confidently. “Maybe that’ll teach you not to leave me like that.”
“It has.” He said kissing the top of her head, as they walked. She had the parasol high enough to cover them both and to be able to tuck her head on his shoulder without hitting him with it. They were quite the sight. Several people stopped and had a quick look if this couple was for real, or if Abby looked like she should be seen in the light of day. Neither of them cared about the attention, only each other.

They spoke for hours. Abby eventually stopped demanding he come back with her. But she stopped only because Gibbs made her one promise.

I'm feeling for her what she's feeling for me

It was strange for him to be back in DC when he had convinced himself that it wasn’t going to happen. But as he turned, and watched the sleeping figure turn her head, still laying on her stomach, fast asleep, he knew he was exactly where he belonged. His fingers slowly brushed over her bare back, covered in art. At the touch she started to wake slightly.
“Hi.” She said to him without opening her eyes.
“Morning.”
“You stayed.” She said putting her hand out and grabbing his. She brought it to his face making the sign for girl with his hand, basically telling him where she stood.
“Of course.”

All the things she said, running through my head

Abbyforever

Gotta Tell You

TITLE: Gotta tell you
Song: Gotta tell you by Samantha Mumba
Rating: Pg 13
Spoilers: Hiatus
Pairing: Abby/Gibbs
Warnings: none
Author's notes: Yet another Abbyforever Post-Hiatus fic.

When you walked in the room that very night
A special feeling just burst inside
It was only you, nobody else
But baby, I know better

Everyone had been anxiously waiting for the return of Leroy Jethro Gibbs to NCIS. He had finally been released from the hospital and had most, if not all of his memory back. He had nearly died, they all knew that. The fact that he barely survived convinced them all to get out everything they had been delaying telling him. Jenny had told him how she regretted and apologized for breaking his heart those years before. Tony had told Gibbs how he looked at him as a better person in his life than his own father. That his leadership and guidance had made him who he was and no-one else. McGee told Gibbs about his novel, and that he was the inspiration for the main character. Ziva had told him what he wanted to know about Ari and their father. Abby was ready to tell him then hesitated. Then he told them he was leaving NCIS, and her heart shattered. She knew she was again facing losing him without letting him know how she truly felt about him.

Don’t wanna love you if you don’t love me
Don’t wanna need you when you won’t need me too
Don’t wanna tell you this now, but it wouldn’t be right
If I didn’t tell you this tonight

So Abby decided to go to his house before he left and get it all out.

“Gibbs, open up!” Abby yelled at his door. She knew the door was going to be open but wanted to see if Gibbs would open it for her.
“Abby, you knew the door would be open.” He said as he opened the door for her.
“Yeah, but not for much longer.” She said sadly.
“Abby, I hope you’re not here to try and talk me out of leaving cos it isn’t going to work.” He said stepping aside so she could come inside.
“I’m not. I know how stubborn you are, and even though I am sure I could fight you all night about it, I don’t want to.” She said honestly.
“What?”
“You wanna leave, fine. It’s your decision. I just have to talk to you first so I myself can live with you gone.” Abby said dropping onto Gibbs sofa, followed shortly by him.
“Okay.” He said sure that she was trying to talk him out of leaving.
“Alright. I just wanted you to know how I really feel about you, before you leave. I thought that you knew everything but obviously not.” She teased but the seriousness of her tone and the look on his face, said that they both understood the importance of what was being said.
“Obviously not.” He commented.
“Well, I thought that you felt the same about me, but now I know you don’t. I just have to tell you that I really do care about you more than I should. And I have to tell you this tonight before you leave, not to convince you to stay.” She said and the look on his face didn’t register the shock she expected.
“I care about you too.” He said instantly.
“You Don’t get it. I knew it would have to come to this.” She said and shifted on the sofa so she was closer to him. She grabbed his collar pulling him close, kissing him with everything she had. They parted breathless and she released him, got up from the couch and left.

And now you’re back inside my house again
I’m trying hard to explain
Cos baby, I wanna get it on
And baby this is where you belong

He had been in Mexico for months before he even called anyone from NCIS. His first call was to Abby. And regularly calls were to Abby, talking about everything except the kiss, and the admittance of feelings. He had used all the time he was away from them to re-evaluate everything that had happened and decided to how to deal with the Abby situation.

“Gibbs. You didn’t tell me you were back.” Abby said as she opened her door to the ex-special agent. She jumped into his arms hugging him tightly as he managed to get inside the apartment, with Abby still in his arms.
“Surprise.” He said putting her back down. She kept her arms around his neck.
“I am so surprised. What are you doing here?” She asked releasing him and going to the kitchen to brew some coffee.
“I can go back if you’d like.” He said following her, putting his bag he had dropped inside the door, down on the table.
“Never. Don’t go back ever.” She said complaining.
“I missed you, Abs.”
“I missed you too, but there is a solution to that.” She reminded him putting her hands on her hips.
“Abby, I can’t go back to NCIS.” He said firmly.
“You don’t have to go back to NCIS but you can stay here in DC.” Abby said hopefully.
“Abby, I am only here for a little bit. And you know why.”

But now I have got you all alone
After all this talking on the phone
I should be strong, there’s nothing wrong
I’ll tell you this is where you belong, where you belong.

“Why?” Abby asked honestly not getting it.
“The issue we have been avoiding for months every time we talked on the phone, since I left.” He reminded her.
“Correction, the issue you have been avoiding for months.” Abby said as they went into the living room to talk.
“That one.” He confirmed.
“Okay, what do you have to say about it?” Abby asked.
“How do you really feel?” He asked.
“I thought that was clear. The only thing was that you either didn’t or don’t feel the same or that you do but aren’t willing to stay.” She said sadly.
“And how do you feel about that?” He asked.
“Did you come all the way back here to ask me how I’m feeling? I’m not happy that you left and refuse to stay now. I miss you and hate that phone calls are now all I have with you, when I used to be able to see you everyday.” She explained. “And the fact that you know how I feel about you, but left anyway is not the best, but it’s what happened.”

It was just something in your eyes
That made me realize
But now I hear voices deep inside
Telling me, telling me

“It was so hard leaving after that night.” He admitted.
“But you still did. It broke my heart when you told us in the squad-room. I knew I had to tell you before you left but didn’t expect anything from a stubborn bastard, like you.” She said teasingly but with a completely serious face.
“I was easily out the door but then I had to say good bye to you. That look you gave me that night has kept me up more than once.”

Don’t wanna love you if you don’t love me
Don’t wanna need you when you won’t need me too
Don’t wanna tell you this now, but it wouldn’t be right
If I didn’t tell you this tonight

“Look, I have told you where I stand now. And it’s fine if you don’t feel the same but I don’t want to need you so much or even love you, if you don’t feel the same.” Abby explained sadly, looking deeply at Gibbs.
“You love me?” He asked.
“Of course I love you, Gibbs.” She said smiling.
“No, seriously? Or like a close friend.” He asked.
“I don’t know what part of that kiss was so ambiguous. And I am not the kind of girl to get all mushy and emotional, so that is a big revelation for me.” She deflected. She was embarrassed she had become one of those, and saying the word ‘love’ out loud wasn’t as easy as it appeared. Or maybe it was easier for other people, she heard say it about insignificant things or people they barely knew. When she said it, it meant that much more, cos she rarely ever says it.
“Wow.” He said.
“Did I actually make The Almighty Jethro Gibbs speechless?” Abby asked.
“Abs, don’t joke. This is major.” She said.
“Yes it is. But if there’s nothing for you to add, it means nothing.”

ALTERNATE ENDINGS

First, fluffy gabby ending

“What if there is something to add?” He asked.
“Care to share?” She asked.
“Abs, I am glad you told me how you feel because I had no idea.” He explained.
“That’s all you have to add?” She asked disappointed.
“No.” He said leaning over and returning the kiss he had been planning and dreaming about for the months since he left.
“Better.” She said as they separated several minutes later, breathless.
“That is all I have to add.” He said and she had to kiss him again.

Unresolved ending

“Then what did he say?” Tony asked.
“He left.” She said trying to will herself not to cry.
“After you admitted loving him?”
“Yep. I kissed him, and he moved to Mexico. Who knows how far away he’ll move now that he knows that.” She said sadly. It was breaking Tony’s heart to see her like that.
“He’ll come back, Abs. I know it.” He tried wrapping an arm around shoulders.
“That’s twice now I have put myself out there for him. Maybe I wont be here when he comes back for round three.” Abby sobbed.
“You’d leave NCIS?” He asked.
“No. Not because of that. I’m talking about not being there emotionally, metaphorically… spiritually. I couldn’t take that again. So if he does come back, my heart wont be there for him to break again.”

Abbyforever

Forsaking All I've Fallen For

TITLE: Forsaking all I've fallen for
Song: Whisper by Evanescence
Rating: 15+
Spoilers: Hiatus, Bloodbath
Pairing: Abby/Mikel
Warnings: Violence. Death fic.
Author's notes: Another post-Hiatus fic by Abbyforever. Also post-Bloodbath so I hope y'all know what happened in both eps. If not, ask me so I can clarify.

Another banner. I just made this one tonight to commemorate that I have written so many Hiatus related fics.

Catch me as I fall
Say you're here and it's all over now
Speaking to the atmosphere
No one's here and I fall into myself

“No one’s going to hurt you.”
“Can you say it again?”
“No one’s going to hurt you, Abby.”

“Gibbs.” She said as he did the one thing she had faith in him never doing. He left. Her choked protest was broken off by his finger on her lips, and his soft lips kissing her cheek what she knew would be the last time.

“Gibbs?” She asked, hopeful, as a number she didn’t recognize appeared on her caller ID.
“Abby. It’s me.”
“Mikel?”
“I’ve missed you.”
“Are you insane? How dare you call me after all you’ve put me through?”
“I want to start fresh. I know we’ve been going through a rough patch lately but we can work this out.”
“You are insane. How did you get free?”
“Can you believe that they let me go? Now we can be together.”
“That is never going to happen. And if you don’t be careful, Gibbs is going to…”
“What? Where is he now?” He mocked.

She slumped next to the boat. The treasured possession of her ex-boss. She could have put herself in that category at one stage but at this point she was not likely the fact that they had both been left, disregarded by the man.
“What am I going to do now?” She asked into the silent room. It gave her the answer she expected. Nothing.

This truth drives me
Into madness
I know I can stop the pain
If I will it all away

He wasn’t coming back. That was the fact she had to face. And now she was alone, with the fear that Mikel was going to hurt her.

I'm frightened by what I see
But somehow I know
That there's much more to come
Immobilized by my fear
And soon to be
Blinded by tears
I can stop the pain
If I will it all away

“I love you too much. That’s why I have to do this.” Mikel said as he pointed his gun directly at Abby as he cornered her in Gibbs’ house.
“Mikel, no. If you loved me, you wouldn’t hurt me.”
“But you love me. And yet you continue to play these games with me. That hurts, Abby.” He said stepping closer to her, as she took a step back. As he continued to approach she made contact with the wall. She was backed into a corner. She looked to the wall around her for something. A photo frame, a book shelf, a television antenna. Anything she could get her hands on to fight him away.
“I do love you. Please put the gun down, Mikel.” She lied, putting her hand to his face to act as if she really felt that way until help could come to her. Not that she needed to stall for that to happen. No one knew she was in danger. And Gibbs’ famous gut wasn’t there to come to her rescue either. She was about to die, unless she could save herself. It hurt her heart that she was all alone when she needed them the most. When she needed him.

Fallen angels at my feet
Whispered voices at my ear
Death before my eyes
Lying next to me I fear
She beckons me
Shall I give in
Upon my end shall I begin
Forsaking all I've fallen for
I rise to meet the end

Gibbs knew that Abby wanted him back. And that any attempt she made, he would give in to. Which is why he had to break off any contact to her. Not that he didn’t regret that or think about her most of the time. That anything black would remind him of her. Anything.
But one night he couldn’t settle and get to sleep. His thoughts were on Abby as always but there was something bothering him to the point where he felt physically ill.

The shot echoed in her ears as she fell to the ground. The initial pain was the shock of the blast and the way time seemed to slow down as she struggled to fight death off. Abby had never feared death, but dying like this, how she was disillusioned with what she had put so much faith into. People she had put her faith into. This was not the way to go.

“I’m sorry, Abby.” Mikel said grasping her hand as she didn’t have the strength to fight him off. He even chose to mock her like that, in his sick mind thinking he was doing the right thing by her.

Abby had pictured her last moments in her mind many times. With her family. In her coffin at home, in a peaceful sleep. After a long life of passion and enthusiasm. A long life she knew was older than 35. She was in love with her life, the people. Well most of them. Her job, which she had fought hard to earn. Her family. But she had never pictured it ending in the arms of the man taking it away from her prematurely, with intentions of making it seem like she had killed herself in depression. Even tarnishing her reputation after her life ended. Not the way to go.

Don't turn away
Don't try to hide
Don't close your eyes
Don't turn out the light

“You did this!” Gibbs accused slamming down a suicide note in what appeared to be Abby’s handwriting. There were also some pictures of Abby that had been taken after Mikel had shot her and left her. Her eyes frozen open, the color almost invisible, her skin a color that was somehow paler than anyone had ever seen.
“How could you say that?” He asked sounding shocked at the accusation, looking away from the pictures. “I can’t believe she actually went through with it.”
“You think I’m an idiot. Look at the pictures. Don’t pretend you’re disgusted with what you see.” He said forcing the other man’s face violently to look at the images that he knew would haunt anyone that knew Abby.
“I didn’t do that. I loved Abby. I tried to protect her.” He said and Gibbs yanked the smaller man out of his seat and up against the glass so fast that Tony jumped from behind the glass in the interrogation observation room.
“Look what you did to her. As if that wasn’t bad enough you tried to make it look like she would kill herself.” He said pushing Mikel’s face into the pictures again on the table.
“I think one of us should go in there before he kills him.” Tony said quietly.
“Let him.” Ziva suggested and the look on her face said she wasn’t kidding.

“How is she, Anthony?” Ducky asked.
“Not the same. She’s trying to get back to normal but understandably can’t. She isn’t coping well.” He said finally. “I don’t even know what to say to her. They got so close.”
“We just need to give her time. Then she’ll be back to her normal self.”
“I don’t know Ducky. You didn’t see her when Gibbs walked back in.” Tony said sadly.

“Talk to me.” Ziva tried.
“What, Ziva?”
“Aren’t you glad he’s back? And got back just in time.” The Israeli tried.
“It never would have happened if he hadn’t have left. He made me promises. He didn’t protect me. He got lucky that I didn’t bleed out before he got there.” Abby said leaning back in the hospital bed.

“Well, what exactly happened?” Ducky asked. “Has she spoken to you since she got out of surgery?”
“No. She’s still pissed at me for leaving. And I don’t blame her.”
“She nearly died. Abby just needs a little time to get passed that shock. It probably has nothing to do with you.”
“It wouldn’t have happened if I had stayed.” He said. “I told her I would protect her and she nearly died in my house waiting for me to come help her.”
“But you did save her. She would have died…”
“I got lucky. If I was any later…” Gibbs trailed off.
“Well, we don’t need to think about that. We have our Abby back and she’s safe.”
“Almost. One more thing I have to take care of.”

Never sleep never die.

No one ever found out what happened to Mikel. It was between Gibbs, Mikel and God. Whatever had happened, Abby was made aware that he would not be a threat to her ever again. She would not be put in that position again by the fault of the judicial system, or the absence of those that loved her and protected her.

“How did you make the pictures?” Tony asked when the issue was no longer a raw topic.
“Those are the one’s Ziva took of me on the way to the hospital. I really looked that bad.” Abby explained. After several weeks of forced hiatus, she was finally allowed back at work, starting with light work, until the physical therapy had her back to her usual self.
“Sorry to say it, Abs. I would have believed you were dead in those too.”
“That’s the point. Worked on Mikel.”

“Abs.” He called into the quiet lab. He had been back as leader of the team for weeks now but this was Abby’s first day back since the incident.
“Sit down. S’about time we talk about this.” Abby said.

Abbyforever

Breathe Again

TITLE: Breathe Again
Song: Breathe again by Toni Braxton
Rating: Pg 13
Spoilers: Hiatus
Pairing: Abby/Gibbs
Warnings: none. Maybe a fluff warning, that's all.
Author's notes: This takes place during and after Hiatus, however Kate is in it rather than Ziva. Don't ask me why. I just felt like it. This is one of about seven post-Hiatus fics I wrote. I have since stopped writing them thinking seven was more than sufficient.

BREATHE AGAIN

If I never feel you in my arms again
If I never feel your tender kiss again
If I never hear I love you now and then
Will I never make love to you once again
Please understand if love ends
Then I promise you, I promise you
That, that I shall never breathe again

“Abby, it’s Tony.” He said as she finally picked up the phone. It had felt like an eternity that he just sat there trying to convince himself to be the one to break it to her.
“Tony what’s wrong?” Abby asked. She had avoided picking it up having that feeling in the pit of her stomach. The same one she had when her brother had been calling her to tell her that their mother had passed on. Not a pleasant feeling at all and she would prefer not to know.
“Do I sound that bad?” Tony asked trying to sound happy. ‘He’s joking, this is really bad.’ She thought.
“Just tell me.”
“It’s Gibbs.” Tony started and the playful tone in his voice was gone.
“What about Gibbs? If you’ve called to tell me he’s d…well, don’t cos I don’t want to hear it.” She said hoarsely and the pain in her voice was so evident that he wanted to cry for her.
“He’s not dead.” Tony said reassuringly.
“He’s not? Don’t scare me like that.” She said.
“Well, he is in the hospital.”
“Which one?” She asked and he could tell she was shuffling things around in her lab.
“Washington District Hospital.” He started and was ready to tell her more but she hung up on him. That was the indicator that she had been with Gibbs too long.

And I can’t stop thinkin’ about
About the way things used to be
And I can’t stop thinkin’ about
About the love that you make to me

Abby got into her car and was ready just to get to the hospital. She had to calm herself down otherwise she would end up there too and not in the way she had planned.
“Come on , Android Lust make me happy.” She said pumping up the CD player in her car. After about twenty seconds she wasn’t even listening to it at all, so she turned it off.

**FLASHACK**
“Abby, what is going on between you and Gibbs?” Kate had asked one afternoon.
“What are you talking about?” Abby had asked.
“Don’t lie to me, Abs. I’m your best friend and I see the way you two look at each other and talk.” She pushed.
“That doesn’t mean anything.” She fought.
“Oh, and I asked my other friend who knows sign language, what this means.” She said doing the hand movements slowly and perfectly. “He told you he loves you?” Kate asked excitedly.
“Yeah.” She said thinking about it. It was the first time he had told her that he loved her, and he felt that was the right moment so he did it with the other two still in the lab.
“Tell me.” Kate said seeing the smile on Abby’s face.
“Busted.” She said smirking.

**END OF FLASHBACK**

Abby pulled into the car-park and she really didn’t remember where she parked or how by the time she reached the door of the emergency room.

And I can’t stop carin’ about
About the apple of my eye
And I can’t stop doin’ without
Without the center of my life

“Where is Leroy Jethro Gibbs.” She asked the receptionist.
“Are you family?” She asked and the way she was looking Abby up and down was not at all subtle.
“Yes. I’m his fiancée.” Abby said proudly.
“Well, why don’t you take a seat and I’ll let you know when I can.” She said patronizingly. Just because she was wearing a short skirt, shirt and vest with knee-high socks and looked like a school girl, did not mean she was one.
“Let me know now. What is happening? Was he shot, is he in surgery? Tell me.” Abby said and as the volume increased she was getting even more scrutiny from the other people in the room.
“Abs.” McGee called out as he saw she was just about ready to punch the lady at the desk.
“McGee.” She said running over to him. “What’s happening?” Abby asked seeing that kicked-puppy look on his face.
“Abs, he got caught in a bomb blast.” He said sadly.
“What?” She asked and again yelling.
“Yeah, but he is in surgery and they are confident.” He tried. He was trying to convince himself and Abby.
“Where?” She asked.
“We can’t go in there, but come with me cos all of us are sitting outside the room.” He prompted.

If I never feel you in my arms again
If I never feel your tender kiss again
If I never hear I love you now and then

“He’s out of surgery but we still have to warn you that he may be in a coma for a while.” Doctor relayed to the group.
“Can we see him?” The Director had asked.
“One or two at a time but not all of you.” He had said then walked away.
“Abs, you go.” Tony said instantly.
“Thanks.” She said standing up.
“Do you want someone to go with you?” Kate offered.
“No, it’s okay.” She said entering the room slowly afraid of what she would see.

“Oh my God.” she said as she looked at the love of her life lying there. All bruised up and cut, with numerous IV’s. The monitor next to the bed was telling her that he was still alive with the heartbeat but otherwise she would not believe it. She sat down next to him and took his hand in her’s.
“I thought I told you when you proposed to me that you had better not scare me or get shot or anything.” She told him and smiled trying to joke with a man in a coma.
“Well, I am terrified right now and it’s all your fault, so you had better wake up and defend yourself. Right now.” She said and then seeing that baiting him wasn’t going to pull him out of a coma, she pulled the chair up so she was able to lie her head on the bed next to his.

Please understand if love ends
Then I promise you, I promise you
That, that I shall never breathe again
Breathe again
Breathe again
That I shall never breathe again

“Can we go in yet?” The Director asked as Tony returned.
“I wouldn’t.” He said having seen the couple sharing the pillow and Abby grasping his large hand in both of her’s like it was one of her Caf-Pows and someone was trying to steal it away.

“You better wake up or you’ll have to deal with me and I wont be pleasant.” She threatened. She knew he wasn’t going to miraculously wake up just because she threatened him. She did know though that most people could hear everything around them when they are in a coma.
“I can’t imagine you not pleasant.” He croaked sleepily.
“Baby, you’re awake.” She said loudly.
“Not quite, but getting there.” He said still not able to open his eyes. He squeezed her hand that was still in his.
“Don’t ever scare me like that again.” She said suddenly very serious.
“I wont.” He promised and then she kissed him.
“You better not. So, you really got out of a coma because someone was threatening you?” Abby asked.
“No, it was because it was you threatening me.” He said.
“You think I should do it more often?” She teased.
“No.” He said instantly and Abby pushed the button to get the doctor in.
“Well if it works.” She teased and he let go of her hand. He signed ‘I love you’ with his hands and she was almost in tears. “I love you too.”

Abbyforever

She grabbed his arm and pulled him back to face her.
“You just finished working. Don’t try that okay, I couldn’t take it right now.” Abby said exasperated with his attitude when facing this situation.
“What’s the matter, Abs?” He asked worried seeing her like this. Gibbs had never seen Abby genuinely serious as she was now.
“Don’t ‘Abs’ me either. Sit down because I really need to get this out before my head explodes.” Gibbs wasn’t liking the way she was talking to him but he would let it go for the moment, purely cos it was Abby doing it. She obviously had a lot on her mind.

I often tell myself
That we could be more than just friends
I know you think that if we move too soon
It would all end
I live in misery when you're not around
And I won't be satisfied 'till we're taking those vows
There'll be some lovemaking, heartbreaking, soul shaking
Oh, lovemaking, heartbreaking, soul shaking

“Gibbs, I know that you have this rule 12 and all but I don’t how much longer this can go on.” Abby stated flatly.
“What is that?” He asked honestly.
“All this flirting, innuendo that we have going on between us and the extent of our relationship.”
“Abby, I never thought we would get any closer than colleagues.” Gibbs said coldly.
“But we have. Even you can’t have missed that.” Abby said offensively.
“Abs, I can’t say that I don’t care about you more than appropriate but it can’t go anywhere.” He complained.
“Why not?” he asked standing in front of his chair so she could look him in the eyes as he spoke. She had her hands planted firmly on her hips.
“Rule 12.” He tried.
“That’s your rule. That means you have the power to erase that one and most certainly break it.”
“Abs, you don’t want me. I’m damaged goods. Plus, you’re young and it would be wasting time pursuing me when you could find someone like you to make you happy.”
“Gibbs, you make me happy. And why all this after how many years of inappropriate affection? I am not stupid, okay? Make me fall for you and then push me away.” Abby said sadly.
“You are far from stupid, in fact you are one of the smartest people I know. But it just isn’t right.”
“Right for what?” Abby asked frustrated.
“Anything. I am your boss, older, been married three times, grumpy and work obsessed.” He listed.
“I dig older guys, I love it when you try to be grumpy with me and I’m as into my work as you are and being in the same line of work, it makes it much easier to stay together.” Abby reasoned.
“Abby, I just can’t do it. I’m sorry if I lead you on.” He said solemnly and tried to get up. Abby pushed him back onto the chair.

I often fantasize
The stars above are watching you
They know my heart and speak to yours
Like only lovers do
If I could wear your clothes
I'd pretend I was you and lose control
There'll be some lovemaking, heartbreaking, soul shaking
Oh lovemaking, heartbreaking, soul shaking, oh yeah

“I can not keep pretending that there is nothing more than playful banter happening between us.”
“I don’t know what you want me to say, Abby?” He couldn’t get up now with Abby right in front of him, her bare thigh rubbing against his knee. He couldn’t help but look at her incredible legs that she loved to show off in ultra mini skirts. She watched his eyes and caught him checking her out ever so obviously.
“Tell me how you really feel about me. The truth is all I am asking for. If you can honestly tell me that you have never felt anything then I will drop it.” She said honestly. She didn’t move though and still leaned against his legs as he sat in her chair.
He prepared himself to tell her that he didn’t want her but he couldn’t do it. He was never able to lie to this woman and that was yet another thing that varied her from the numerous exes.
“Abby, I can’t deny that I have feelings for you that are not right for a boss to feel for his employee.” He started. She grabbed his shoulders forcing him to look deep into her green eyes.
“Gibbs, stop thinking like a boss and remember that you are actually allowed to express human emotion to me contrary to popular belief.” She said forcefully holding his stare.
“Abby, you know how much I adore you.” He answered lost in her gaze.

Running in and out my life has got me so confused
You gotta make the sacrifice
Somebody's got to choose
We can make it if we try for the sake of you and I
Together we can make it right

“You can’t keep messing with me like this. Either you’re in or you’re out. I hate these games so I want you to tell me whether or not this flirting is going anywhere or if I should be getting over it and used to this.” She demanded and her hands returned to her hips.
“Abby, I love you more than you know and more than I can remember ever feeling.” He said out right.
“If this is another one of your…” Her speech was broken off by Gibbs’ hands snaking around her waist pulling her onto his lap. She was slightly disoriented but soon recovered. Before further analysis of the situation could be completed, Abby put her arms around his neck and his strong hands cupped her cheeks as he pulled her face toward his. At first the kiss was slow and tentative but soon the kiss deepened with years of sexual tension and passion toward each other fueling the union. As they parted for air Abby shifted in his lap until she was more comfortable and they returned with equal passion to the kiss. It had to be their third kiss by now but the familiarity they shared made them feel like they had been doing this for years. Gibbs didn’t even know when he had moved his hands from her back to her thighs that were even more exposed now from the position they were in. He had dreamed of this very moment and it was even better in reality. Abby ran her fingers through his silver hair which she had dreamed of doing more times than she could remember. It was just as soft as she imagined and she could get used to this. The couple weren’t even aware of how much time had passed as they sat investigating every prediction they had of each other that they thought they would never have the solution to. Gibbs was glad that Abby had chosen a simple ’A’ necklace today rather than a collar, giving him ample access to her neck. As the kiss broke again he turned his attention to her throat planting small kisses along the spider web. Abby moaned as he bit her gently and moved to the other side of her throat. This visit was becoming rather enlightening and would have to be remembered for future reference.
He pulled away from her neck to see the dreamy look on her face that said she approved of his previous actions. He looked at her a second longer before capturing her mouth in another passionate kiss, to both of them the kisses seemed to be improving by the second which they didn’t think possible. They were both so into each other and keeping the kiss going that neither of them heard the automatic doors open and then close again. They weren’t terribly focused on avoiding exposure at that stage so it didn’t matter yet. Once they parted again, Abby looked at Gibbs, finding herself starring at those blue eyes that had her mesmerized. She knew she could do that all she wanted now without creating an awkward moment and that very feeling made her even happier, no one would be able to bring her down from this high.
“I love you too, Gibbs.” She replied.

Abbyforever

TITLE: What can you lose?
Rating: PG 13
Spoilers: None
Pairing: Abby/Gibbs
Warnings: angst
Author's notes: none

What can you lose?
Only the blues.
Why keep concealing everything you're feeling?
Say it to her, what can you lose?

Gibbs stood in his basement yet again wasting away another evening. He usually escaped into his actions, sanding, sawing, whatever he was doing to keep from thinking about life, really thinking. He didn’t want to. If that didn’t work, he always had his bottle of Jack to keep him occupied while he mindlessly continued the boat. Now that he was thinking properly, none of the methods working, he looked at the shell of the boat he had been working on for what seemed like an eternity and it seemed like he wasn’t getting far with it at all. He threw the sander he had at the wall and made his way upstairs.
“Maybe there’s something on tv that’ll keep me occupied.” He said to himself. He only ever had one tv in his house that is still in his basement but Abby had convinced him he needed one in his living room. He still doesn’t know why he complied and got another set but he did. Maybe he did know why he listened to her but he refused to think about it.
It had been nearly a month since he had realized he loved Abby more than a friend or boss. And then he decided to confide in his oldest friend about it but Ducky was no help, trying to convince him to tell her how he felt. He knew he couldn’t. Gibbs was over being rejected by women and he cared about Abby too much to push her out the work she loved because the boss is lusting after her and she doesn’t want to be in that environment. He wouldn’t do it. Gibbs could keep it to himself and could even avoid thinking about it. Except tonight, Gibbs didn’t understand why he couldn’t stop thinking about her and nothing could stop him and distract him. A knock at the door brings him out of his battle of indecision in his mind and he praises a visitor even though he never usually likes them disturbing him. He welcomes any kind of distraction tonight.

Maybe it shows,
She's had clues, which she chose to ignore.
Maybe though she knows,
And just wants to go on as before.
As a friend, nothing more

He gets up and answers the door surprised to see Ducky there but happy just the same. A few stories from him and he wont even be able to remember her name.
“Duck, what are you doing here?” Gibbs asked.
“Is that any way to greet your dearest and oldest friend, Jethro?” Ducky joked and entered the house.
“I didn’t mean it that way and you know it? I just didn’t expect to see anyone tonight and especially you.” Gibbs said taking his jacket and hanging it on the rack.
“Okay. But I am here with an ulterior motive anyway.” Ducky admitted. He took a seat on the couch where Gibbs had previously occupied. Gibbs said across from him on the two-seater and waited for it.
“What is it, Ducky?”
“It’s about Abigail.” Ducky started.
“Duck, I have been trying not to think about her all night. Can we not?” Gibbs tried and picked up his coffee cup.
“Too bad. I came all the way here so we are going to talk about it.” Ducky said defiantly. Only two people could get away with talking to Gibbs like that, one was himself and the other was, oh, what do you know? It’s Abby.
“Fine, do you want a coffee first. I know I’m gonna need one.” Gibbs said leaving the room.
“No, thank you Jethro.” He called after Gibbs. He knew him well enough to know when he was stalling. Then he returned with a fresh cup of coffee and settled himself into the chair. And to think, he was actually happy to have a visitor minutes ago.
“Okay, spill Ducky.” He said in his boss tone.
“When are you going to tell Abby how you feel?” He said bluntly.
“Never.” He answered honestly.
“Jethro, you can’t go forever without telling her. And if you can, she’s a smart woman and you have the habit of not being able to hide anything from her.”
“Why do you always have to be right?” Gibbs asked.
“In this case it’s because I have seen how you two are together and know that you are scared that she will reject you. Obviously you can’t see how much she cares for you too. Or maybe you are afraid that she wont reject you.” Ducky said looking pointedly at Gibbs.
“What the hell does that mean?” Gibbs asked, he was starting to get frustrated.
“It means that if she does feel the same way, which she does, you will have to open yourself up to love again at the risk of getting burned again.” Ducky pointed out.
“I have hinted enough and it has never gone any further. That’s enough of an indicator to me. Abby is smart enough to know, and she knows me well enough that she probably knows better how I feel than I do.”
“Probably. But if you’re waiting for her to make the first move, you aren’t as old-fashioned as she tells you, you are.”
“But she hasn’t responded to my advances so how do I know she feels the same way?” Gibbs asked.
“From what I have heard, she does respond. Kate told me the other day she called you her… what was it?… Silver fox or something.”
“Her Silver-Haired Fox. But that was just a joke.” Gibbs said excusing the action.

Well, if she does
Those are the dues.
Once the words are spoken,
Something may be broken.
Still, you love her
What can you lose?

“Well, how are you going to know unless you ask her?’ Ducky reasoned.
“I’m not. It’s very simple.”
“Jethro, you are going to end up like me. A lonely old man with no one. Better to have loved and lost… you know that story. Anyway, what’s the worst that could happen?”
“I don’t want to do that to Abby, putting her on the spot. There is no need for it. We’re both better off if nothing happens.”
“No you are not. Okay, you may not want to admit it and you may not even notice it but you have been different for at least the last month. And Abby has noticed.”
“She has?”
“Yes, you don’t give her enough credit. She came to me because she thought she had done something wrong or that you were going to fire her or something.”
“I would never.”
“That’s what I told her. But I couldn’t tell her you were acting different around her because you realized you were in love with her.”
“I didn’t mean for it to be this way, Ducky.” Gibbs said frustrated and put his empty coffee cup on the table.
“I know, that would explain rule 12.”
“Then there’s that too. I expect my agents to respect me and follow my rules and then I am willing to break them myself acting like a hypocrite.” Gibbs said. Ducky could tell he was having an internal battle of should I? Shouldn’t I?.

But what if she goes?
At least now, you have part of her.
What if she had to choose?

“What if I scare her away? This is not like any other person, if she goes NCIS will be losing the best forensic scientist they’ve ever had. And I would have no motivation to go there without being able to see her face light up when I come in the room. To take her Caf-Pows, to go there when the other two are driving me insane. I’d rather not tell her and keep her where she is.”
“Jethro, you two are so stubborn. Neither one of you is ever going to admit how you feel and you are going to spend the rest of your time as colleagues, nothing more.”
“Ducky, what do you mean, how she feels?” Gibbs said gruffly.
“Nothing. I am not an uneducated man either and I did study psychology. That’s all I’m saying.”
“Ducky, if you know something.” Gibbs threatened.
“I don’t know anything other than what I can see, I think you should tell her how you feel then let her decide.” Ducky said and got up from the couch grabbing his coat.

Leave it alone
Hold it all in.
Better a bone
Don't even begin.
With so much to win,
There's too much to lose.

After Ducky left he returned to the basement and tried to focus on the boat. No such luck, he was too busy trying to figure out if Abby had said something to Ducky.
He told himself it wasn’t worth the risk, telling her so he decided not to. Once and for all, he would have to try and act normal around her and get what he could but would never have a relationship with her.
Then he heard another knock at the door. Ducky must have forgotten something he figured and went to answer it.
What he didn’t expect was the effervescent and happy object of his affection to bound into the house.
“Abby, what brings you here?” Gibbs asked casually knowing that Ducky had something to do with this.
“If you don’t want to be disturbed, I can go. I was just in the neighborhood.” Abby lied.
“No, please stay. Coffee?”
“Of course my darling.” She said smiling and he went into the kitchen to get it. He wondered if she knew the effect she had on him. When he went into the kitchen he picked up the phone and dialed Ducky’s cell.
“Hello?”
“Duck, you couldn’t help yourself could you?” Gibbs asked trying to sound pissed.
“I just knew that you were going to change your mind and tonight is as good as any to tell her.”
“How do you know so much?”
“So I take it you are going to tell her?” Ducky asked hopefully.
“Yes, Ducky. I am going to tell her.” Gibbs said before hanging up the phone.

Abbyforever

TITLE: In these arms
Rating: 15+
Spoilers: None
Pairing: Abby/Gibbs
Warnings: violence, swearing
Author's notes: None

IN THESE ARMS

“Marry me?” Gibbs said as he stood in front of the object of his desire.
“Of course.” She answered quickly and he grabbed her into a passionate embrace. “On, one condition.” She teased. He pulled away from her and frowned.
“What is it?”
“If you are proposing to get a wife, someone to agree with every thing you say, cook you dinner every night and be at your beckon call, you picked the wrong girl. Is that what you want?”
“If that is what I wanted, I wouldn’t be with you.” Gibbs responded and grabbed her around the waist.
“Good.” She responded and kissed him, the kiss deepening fuelled by happiness and passion.

You want commitment
Take a look into these eyes
They burn with a fire, just for you now
Until the end of time

“Abs, are you ready?” Tony asked her as he entered the room Abby was getting ready in.
“Yeah, as ready as I’ll ever be.” Abby said looking at herself one more time before she came out from the bathroom.
“Wow. Gibbs is a lucky man.” He said as he looked at Abby’s unorthodox black and white dress that countered the color of her skin and the color of her hair beautifully. Her hair in soft curls and her fringe brushed and pinned to the side.
Gibbs stared at the vision in front of him unable to refrain signing to her from the other side of the church commenting on how beautiful she looked. She signed back to him and it was a private exchange between them and Abby’s parents who were the only other people in the room who understood. They spoke in ASL the whole trip down to the altar and it was so touching to everyone around them even though they didn’t have a clue what they were saying.

I would do anything
I'd beg, I'd steal, I'd die
To have you in these arms tonight
Baby I want you like the roses
Want the rain

It was exactly two years later when she gave him a son and they grew even happier by the day. Abby and Gibbs were lying in bed and Kaden was well and truly asleep in his bassinette next to their bed when a sound could be heard from downstairs. Gibbs jumped up immediately and grabbed his Sig Sauer from the drawer. Abby got up too and after checking the sound didn’t wake the baby she followed Gibbs out of the room.
“Abs, stay here.”
“No, what if it is an intruder?” She asked and grabbed a pair of scissors off of the cupboard.
“Exactly. Stay with Kaden.” He demanded.
“Fine.” She said and put down her weapon returning to her son. Gibbs went down the stairs quietly and cleared the rooms as he checked the bottom floor. He found a broken window and it looked like a large rock on the inside of the room with shards of glass. He looked out the broken window and saw a car speed away. Gibbs returned upstairs to tell Abby what had happened and that they had gotten away so she wouldn’t worry. He went into the room and saw Abby holding onto Kaden as a gun was pointed at her head by the intruder. The speeding car was obviously a distraction by his accomplice.
“Drop your weapon!” Gibbs yelled and woke the baby. The man was using Abby as a shield knowing the special agent wouldn’t risk shooting his wife and child.
“No!” He yelled back and it made Abby jump with fear at the tone and evil that was evident in the voice.
“Let them go and you can walk out of here, no retaliation.” He reasoned. Gibbs started to put his gun on the floor slowly and stood up again. The intruder let go of Abby and still holding up his weapon he went for the door. Gibbs went to Abby instantly and kicked his Sig across the ground in the process. Quickly picking it up he went to shoot the armed man but he expected it so he got the first shot off hitting Gibbs in the stomach. It would have hit Abby had he not been there. Then he ran out the door. Before the shock could hit Abby she put Kaden down on the bed and took the weapon off the still conscious Gibbs. Before he could protest, she bolted out the door and stood at the top of the stairs and watched as the man came within her range. Then with the years of ballistics training and the visits to the range that Gibbs had forced upon her she aimed and precisely hit the man on the back of the head. He dropped to the floor instantly. The blood that he lost almost instantly told her that there was no way he would have survived that.

You know I need you
Like a poet needs the pain
I would give anything
My blood my love my life

He had saved both their lives and for that Abby knew she wouldn’t be able to repay him. She couldn’t imagine losing him and now with him in the ICU, she didn’t know of she would be able to cope. Abby had never got so much satisfaction than when she shot dead the man who was trying to take her life and her child’s, nearly taking her husband’s in the process.

If you were in these arms tonight
I'd hold you
I'd need you
I'd get down on my knees for you
And make everything alright
If you were in these arms

It would have been their three year anniversary and Kaden’s first birthday when Abby had nearly lost him again. Another anniversary spent in the hospital, only this time Gibbs was in incredible pain rather than her. After the surgery and a little time spent in recovery she was finally allowed to see him. She left Kaden with Kate in the waiting room and went in.
“Now, that’s the way to wake up. Hey, beautiful.” He said croakily.
“Glad I could be of service. We have got to stop spending our anniversaries like this.” She teased.
“Can’t we be like a normal couple and go to dinner or something?”
“Hopefully next year. That’s two in a row now that we have spent here, maybe next year I’ll make a reservation here to make sure we get here in time for dinner to be served.”

I'd love you
I'd please you
I'd tell you that I'd never leave you
And love you till the end of time
If you were in these arms tonight

“I’ll let you get some rest and check up on you again later.” Abby promised kissing him briefly before heading toward the door. He grabbed her arm back and pulled back to the bed.
“Lie down with me.” He said seriously.
“I can’t, I’m sure that’s not allowed and the bed is so small anyway. I’ll just be outside.”
“Please, I want to have you in my arms when I wake up, like at home.” He said and she couldn’t resist when he said please and was all romantic. It was their anniversary after all so if any doctor tried to protest they would cop an angry and wounded Gibbs on their ass. Abby climbed onto the bed and lay down so she wouldn’t be on any IV’s or hurt Gibbs. He put his arms around her and started to close his eyes again.
“Happy Anniversary babe, Love you.” Abby said closing her own eyes.
“Love you too, Abs.” He said tiredly and fell asleep instantly keeping his arms firmly around her.

We stared at the sun
And we made a promise
A promise this world would never blind us
These are my words
Our words were our songs
Our songs are our prayers

They finally spent their fourth anniversary at a location that didn’t contain doctors and patients. Kaden enjoyed his second birthday at the park with his parents, playing and having fun. Later that night he was going to have everyone coming over with presents and have a cake but at the moment it was just him and his father playing chasey as Abby watched unable to move very far now in her third trimester. She couldn’t be happier from where she was snapping pictures of her family. By their next anniversary they would have a daughter.

These prayers keep me strong
It's what I believe
If you were in these arms tonight

It had been an incredibly hard couple of years but neither of them wanted to take it back for the world. They never imagined so much would happen and they would have to experience every emotion that came with caring for someone in such a short period.
By the time they reached their fifth year as husband and wife it felt like they had been married for a decade at least. After finally being able to get Kaden and Ashlee to sleep, they cuddled up in each other’s arms and spent the night adoring each other. They knew they could always find solace and happiness like this.

Abbyforever

TITLE: Leather and lace series
1. Behind the scenes
2. Next time, he will
3. Hinky
4. Leather and lace

Rating: 15+
Spoilers: None
Pairing: Abby/Jen, that's right slash
Warnings: Slash. Femmeslash to be precise. If you don't like it, don't read it.
Author's notes: This is one of the fics in my list of fics I wrote to fulfil my dream of writing every single Abby pairing.
The dress I described in part 4 for Abby is Angelina Jolie's dress pictured here:
http://s73.photobucket.com/albums/i238/jose_juarez91766/Angelina%20Jolie/?action=view&current=AngelinaJolie5.jpg
That is a crappy part pic of just the top. I had a better pic but the resource ate it up, and after an hour and a half searching that is going to have to do.

Leather and Lace: 1. Behind the scenes

"Abby, this is the last time I am going to tell you." Jen said angrily. Tony and Ziva were shocked at how quickly she got loud toward Abby.
"You know what Director? If you insist on questioning every move I make, it is going to make my job very difficult. And I would like to see you find some one that can do what I do in these conditions." Abby countered getting as pissed as Jen. And she had several inches on the red-head regarding height.
"Is that how you feel?" The director asked.
"I am not going to change. I do good work for you." Abby said stubbornly putting her hands on her chain-covered hips.
"My office, now!"

"Whoa." Tony said when both women stormed out of the lab.
"I have never seen Jen that pissed off." Ziva informed him.
"Well, I don't see what her problem with Abby is."

"Cynthia, no calls and definitely no visitors." Jen instructed as she and Abby got to her office.
"Yes, Ma'am."

"That was fun." Abby said as Jen locked the door to the office, knowing that none of Cynthia's protests would keep Gibbs out.
"You ain’t seen nothing yet." Jen said approaching Abby and pushing her up against her desk.
"My my Director. Is that appropriate?" Abby asked teasingly.
"About as appropriate as that outfit." She countered referring to Abby's corset dress that bore inches of her thighs about her knee-high socks.
"You complaining?" She asked putting her hands on the red-head’s face.
"Never."

2. Next time, he will

Gibbs approached the door cautiously. There was definitely something off, something that stirred his gut in the way it always did to warn him. One part of him said to run away from this place as fast as he could, that nothing good could come of this. But always the one to offer protection and never one to back away, he didn’t stray from his path to the door. He raised his hand ready to knock on the door, when he heard a sound from within the apartment that drew his hand directly to his hip where his Sig rested. Not wasting time to knock and announce his presence, he kicked the door open violently.

“Was that entirely necessary?” Jen asked releasing her captive.
“What the hell?” Gibbs asked surveying the situation.
“We can explain.” Abby tried. Having the red-headed director still pretty much sitting in her lap and her lipstick smudged wasn’t making that argument any more convincing.
“Yeah.” Jen started. “Or you could just knock next time.”

3. Hinky

“You going home, Ducky?” Abby asked as he finished signing the last report.
“Yes. Mother wants me to take her out of the house tonight so I have to get back for her.”
“Have a good one.” Abby said leaving the autopsy.

“Director.” Abby greeted as she returned to her lab.
“Abby.” Jen said formally. So it appeared. Seconds later their lips crushed together as their bodies met in a frenzy of roaming hands competing for dominance. Considering Abby had been out of the lab though, the music was off, and the fear of being caught kept both women aware. They heard the elevator ding and Abby dropped them to the ground and under the desk before McGee walked into the main part of the lab.
“Abs?” He called as he walked not looking down, not expecting her to be on the ground hiding. He put the paper he had been holding, down on the large bench and then curious wondered into the ballistics lab. Abby waited until he was out of sight, and then dragged Jen out the door and into the stairwell.

“Why did we hide? Agent McGee wouldn’t have suspected anything.” Jen asked as they bolted hand-in-hand down the stairs.
“Obviously I don’t look as seedy as you do right now.” Abby teased and then was shocked as Jen stopped, nearly causing Abby to fall over.
“I wasn’t the one wearing black lip-stick.”
“But now you are.” Abby added and then Jen kissed her again.
“Hold on. Autopsy’s empty. And McGee wont look for me there.”
“Okay.”

“It’s pitch black in there.” Jen said as they reached the outside doors of autopsy.
“There’s a lamp on Ducky’s desk. That’ll be all the light we need.” Abby said expertly making her way to the desk in the dark still holding onto the red-head. As the small light illuminated the desk, Abby sat up on the desk and Jen once again closed the distance between them.
“Abby?” Came a voice from a darker part of the room that was only slightly visible now with the light.
“Jimmy?” Abby asked as she recognized the voice. Jen froze from where she had been tracing Abby’s spider-web tattoo with her tongue.
“Um… hi.” He said scrambling and then Abby realized that he was only wearing his pants, and there was someone else in autopsy. Abby hopped off the desk and turned on the main lights, illuminating the whole room.
“Agent Lee.” Abby said smirking.
“Abby. Director.” The younger woman said shyly trying to straighten up her shirt and pulling her jacket back on.
“Okay. As Director it is usually up to me to make decisions for the whole of NCIS. So, Abby and I are going to forget what we saw and I trust that you two will do the same.”
“Yes, Director.”

4. Leather and lace

She was suddenly nervous. She had told Abby to dress how she felt most comfortable. Appearances had held a great deal of importance to Jen since she became the first female director of NCIS.

“Abs, come on.” Jen called into the bathroom. Abby would not let her see what she was wearing until she was ready.
“Are you sure about this? I wouldn’t want you to be embarrassed in front of all your friends, by me.” Abby called out.
“Abby, we have discussed this. I told you to dress how you want.” Jen tried again. She stood up and went to the full length mirror on the closet door to make sure there were no creases in her lace dress. The soft pink material ran full length down her body and was extremely elegant on the red head.
“Alright fine.” Abby said and then slowly walked out of the bathroom.
“Wow.” Jen said stepping back slightly.
“What do you say?” Abby said turning around in a full circle to face the director again.
“I say, does Angelina Jolie know you borrowed that dress from her?” Jen asked referring to the black leather dress that Abby was wearing that was reminiscent of the one Angelina had worn to an award ceremony.
“Pretty cool, huh? So, inappropriate for tonight?” Abby asked.
“No. I’m just afraid of all the competition I’ll have.” Jen added running her fingertips down Abby’s bare arm leaving a trail of goose-bumps.

They walked to the car, hand-in-hand. A vision of everything that could be considered opposite. Ebony- hair falling around pale inked flesh, against tanned skin warmed by short flame-colored tresses. They were leather and lace.

Abbyforever

TITLE: In love with love
Rating: Pg 13
Spoilers: None
Pairing: Abby/Gibbs
Warnings: Silly fluff
Author's notes: None

“So, what did he say?” Kate asked Abby at lunch.
“Um.. he proposed.” She answered reluctantly.
“How great. What happened then?”
“We had a fight.” Abby said sadly.
“Why?”
“Because I didn’t say yes.” Abby answered.
“What? Why not, you love him don’t you? You’ve told me that yourself.” Kate protested.
“I do love him but I am not ready to be married and turn into one of those people.”
“What people?” Kate asked honestly unsure.
“Wives.” Abby said sounding like she was uttering the most disgusting word she ever had to.
“What’s the matter with that?” Kate asked.
“It’s not me. I don’t want to be known as Mrs. Gibbs. I want to be Abby, that’s it.”
“You don’t have to change your personality or even take his name. And he wouldn’t expect you to be any different either.”
“I know he understands me but he is just so…” Abby started and tried to think of how to end that sentence.
“In love with you?” Kate tried.
“That, but he is also in love with being in love. The man’s been married three times.”
“That doesn’t mean anything. He is obviously sure enough about your relationship to risk it happening again. Or feeling there is no risk with you of a failed marriage.”
“Or maybe he doesn’t know what he wants.” Abby nearly yelled.
“He knows he wants you, obviously. He has had his heart broken many times but he is willing to pick up the pieces to be with you.” Kate explained.
“What are you, his therapist?” Abby asked jokingly.
“Well not exactly but he did come to me for advice, being your best friend and all.”
“What? What did he want from you?” Abby asked.
“He came to me before he proposed and asked me if I thought you would say yes.” Kate said honestly.
“And you said I would?” Abby asked shocked.
“No, I said I didn’t know and that I was pretty sure you wouldn’t be ready for a commitment.”
“And he still asked. See, you understand.” Abby said self satisfactorily.
“Actually I don’t. Why would you say no?” She asked frustrated.
“I didn’t say no, I said I would think about it, okay?”
“Then why did you two fight?”
“Because he thinks that means I am going to say no. Then he said that if I loved him as much as he loves me that I wouldn’t have hesitated. So I called him a bastard for questioning my answer and not even giving me a chance to think about one of the most important decisions of my life.”
“That is fair enough but you guys shouldn’t have fought about something like that.” Kate said.
“I know, but he was acting like a child who didn’t get the toy he wanted.”
“Technically speaking, he didn’t get what he wanted. And men hate that.” Kate joked and they both laughed briefly.
“I know, but it’s not helping him get what he wants if he pisses me off so I don’t even want to say yes.” Abby said angrily.
“True.”

“Abby.” Gibbs said tentatively as he entered the lab finding the music surprisingly low.
“Gibbs.” She said back lacking the usual enthusiasm.
“Do you have the results yet?” He asked awkwardly.
“No.” she answered flatly not really ready to fight him now on the results.
“Let me know.” Strange answer from him telling Abby that he was feeling bad and didn’t want to challenge her on the speed of the results.
“Wait. We’re going to talk about this.” Abby said forcibly.
“I have work to do.” Gibbs said still making for the door.
“Don’t try that.” She nearly yelled overwhelmed with frustration. It was a rare emotion she expressed and Gibbs stopped immediately looking back at her.
“Fine.” He said sitting down at one of her chairs.
“Don’t expel too much emotion now, it could hurt.” She snapped angrily.
“Abby.”
“Why were you like that the other day?” She asked sitting next to him.
“Like what?”
“If you’re not going to talk then you may as well go back to work.” Abby yelled.
“Abby, just tell me.”
“Nasty, childish, stubborn, bastardly, like a sore loser.”
“That’s me.” He said as if it was to be expected, and it nearly always was the case.
“Not with me. And just because I didn’t say yes instantly doesn’t mean I deserved that.”
“I know. It was just that I was already a little apprehensive about marriage again.”
“And I didn’t say no. That’s what you didn’t realize. And as a man that has been married and divorced thrice you should understand my original reluctance.” She said bringing her tone down again.
“Okay.” He agreed.
“All I wanted was a little reassurance that you actually thought this out. Especially because I am not going to be another ex-wife. I’d kill you before divorce you.”
“I am sure about this.” He said confidently.

Meanwhile in the Bullpen, Kate was at her desk looking up a file on a Petty Officer, McGee was on hold on the phone and Tony was bored having done his part already.
“Wonder what’s taking Gibbs so long.”
“He’s talking to Abby.” Kate said disinterested in him at that point.
“I’m gonna go see.” He said getting up.
“Don’t you dare! I will shoot you before you reach the elevator.” Kate threatened.

“Good.” Abby said. Gibbs fiddled in his pocket for a second before getting down on one knee in front of Abby. Again.
“Abby Sciuto, would you make the rest of the life of a grumpy, bastard of a Special Agent the best years of his life by marrying him?” He asked.
“When you put it that way.” She giggled. “Yes.”

Abbyforever

TITLE: Only following your lead
Rating: PG 13
Spoilers: None. The show in general
Pairing: Abby/Gibbs
Author's notes: Based on what I thought was going to happen between a guy from work and myself. By the way, he's now my boyfriend.

It wasn’t that Abby didn’t love the game they seemed to play around each other. She did. For a while. It was the fact that he would get so close or kiss her so inappropriately that it would confuse the senses in her body, telling her that if this tension didn’t get relieved soon, she was going to do something drastic.

A lingering hand at the small of her back, a soft kiss to the cheek, a sign that only they knew and she couldn’t believe he would use with her, a smile just for her. Even a glare she usually laughed at, inches from her face until they would part teasing each other.

Abby didn’t want anything to happen at work and certainly not to lose her job or cause him to lose his for something so stupid. But what they had been doing for years, looked suspicious enough coming from the outside anyway, so what was one more inch, one more sign of public affection.

She had decided it was about time to get her revenge.

They were in the squad-room but she knew that the only ones that would be watching them would be Tony and Ziva.
“DNA?” He asked her.
“Gonna be another 12 hours.” Abby told him.
“Then what are you doing up here?” He asked, and it was true, she could see Tony and Ziva watching their entire conversation.
“You called me up here?” Abby argued.
“For the results.” He said glaring at her. She matched his with her own and a face-off ensued. Tony and Ziva held their breaths as they saw their boss and forensic scientist, stand with their faces only an inch or so apart. Daring each other to back away first. A sly smirk erupted on Abby’s face as she closed the distance between them for a slight union of their lips, crushing together. It was a quick peck that Abby administered before immediately pulling away and walking back to the elevator.

As she stood in the elevator, waiting for the doors to close, she looked at Gibbs. At the look of shock on his face, she smiled at him and signed, ‘game over’ to him.

Abbyforever

TITLE: Fear: Chapter 9~ How far we've come
Rating: 16+
Spoilers: None
Pairing: Abby/OMC
Warnings: Abuse, etc etc. Nothing more than what has been in previous chapters.
Author's notes: As I have said elsewhere, I know some may disagree with my characterisation of Jason in this chapter but it is sculpted around real life so... yeah.
The pic is several of my OC's but most importantly three from this fic. Enjoy.
This is being posted here cos the resourse is being a b**** as usual and soon will be shut down. After that, all my fics will be posted here first.

CHAPTER 9. “How far we’ve come.”

I believe the world is burning to the ground
Oh well, I guess we're gonna find out
Let's see how far we've come

“Officer Perrette?” Gibbs asked as the man answered the door.
“Yes.” He said obviously suspicious of the older man.
“I’m Special Agent Gibbs and this is Special Agent DiNozzo, NCIS.” He said showing his badge.

**FLASHBACK**

“Where is he right now?”
“He’s living with my uncle and aunt. Has since he was about one.” Shayla explained. “We had to move again and it wasn’t safe, so my uncle and aunt took him.”
“How is that safe? Wouldn’t Thomas know exactly where to find him?”
“No one messes with Jason Perrette. Not even Thomas. But that means I haven’t seen my brother since we moved to D.C seven years ago.” She said sadly.
“Thomas has never gone after them?”
“No. Jay has a chip on his shoulder for him. And they’ve claimed him as their own child since he was born. For safety.”
“Why didn’t Jason threaten him when he first started hurting your mother?” Ziva asked, not understanding his hesitance to hurt the man.
“My mother told him not to get himself involved in case she needed him later, which she did for Blaze. Also to not jeopardize his academy dreams.”

**END OF FLASHBACK**

“What can I do for the Navy, today?” He asked, smiling his recognition of the government agency.
“We’re here to talk about Vanessa.” Gibbs started. Suddenly the young officer yanked his arm and almost caught him off guard. Gibbs realized what he was doing and didn’t defend himself as he was pulled into the apartment. DiNozzo quickly followed suit, and the door was closed and locked behind them.
“What the hell are you doing talking like that on my doorstep?” Jason asked, and that is when Gibbs saw what Shayla was talking about. He could be very intimidating. Just a glance at Tony told him that, also.
“We need your help, Officer Perrette.” Gibbs said. “Your sister-in-law’s been arrested.”
“I know, Agent Gibbs. I’ve done all I can, short of killing the bastard.” Jason said sitting down on the couch motioning for them to do the same. Tony sat immediately, much like a trained puppy. “Which I would have done without thought the minute he touched her, Agent Gibbs. Trust me.”
“I understand the feeling.” Gibbs said.
“Yeah, I’ve heard. You’ve done a lot for Abby.”

It’s gone gone baby it’s all gone
There is no one on the corner and there's no one at home
It was cool cool, it was just all cool
Now it's over for me and it's over for you

**FLASHBACK**

“Mommy, where’s the bubba?” Shayla asked when her mother returned to the car minus the infant she had gone in with.
“Baby, he’s staying here for a while.” Abby tried, starting the car so she could drive away before changing her mind. She knew he was better off where he was and she would have left Shayla there too for her safety if Thomas wouldn’t connect one and one, and put her son in danger too.
“But, why?” The little girl asked, crying lightly.
“So he doesn’t get hurt. You’ll understand one day, baby-girl.”

**END OF FLASHBACK**

“Jay, we’re just going to the movies.” A new voice said from the doorway. There was a dark haired boy, around the same age as his companion but taller.
“Manners?” Jason asked.
“In my defense, when I started that sentence I was in another room and didn’t know we had company.” He said too quickly. The boy approached the two strangers in the room and held his hand out. “Blaze. Have we met?”
“You’re Blaze?” Tony asked. The boy didn’t hold much of a resemblance to Abby. But he was definitely Thomas’ son.
“The one and only.” He said animatedly. “And that’s Chris.”
“Agents Gibbs and DiNozzo, NCIS.” Jason said.
“Wow. You guys actually exist?” Blaze said. “Wait. Is there some reason you guys came all the way here from D.C?” He asked worriedly.

“We met Blaze.” Gibbs told Abby the day he and Tony got back from New Orleans.
“You did what?” She asked, and he could tell she was trying to be pissed off but she was more afraid. “How do you even know about him?”
“Shayla.”
“No. She wouldn’t.”
“She suspects you’re in trouble. She just wanted to help.” Gibbs justified.
“That’s not the point.” Now she was pissed. “Shayla is not supposed to repeat a word about Blaze to anyone who is not me. No one. That’s why they haven’t even seen each other in seven years. Why I haven’t seen him in that long either.”
“Why didn’t you tell me any of this?”
“What good would that have done?” Abby asked.
“You know that I would do anything to protect you, Abs. I could have helped you sooner.”
“No offense intended cos you know how much I adore you, Gibbs. But the fact is I have remained in prison for nearly a week with absolutely no leads on getting me out, and all you have done is break Shayla down to telling you things she has not repeated to another human.” Abby said. She rubbed her eyes with worry and fatigue and simply got up, waiting at the door until the guard escorted her back to her cell.
“I’ll get you out, Abs. I promise.” He called after her. But the truth was, he never felt so weak in his life. Well, not since his family was taken from him while he was gone.

I think it turned ten o'clock but I don't really know
Then I can't remember caring for an hour or so
Started crying and I couldn't stop myself
I started running but there's no where to run to
I sat down on the street and took a look at myself

Abbyforever

TITLE: AM I THE LAST SANE PERSON IN THE WORLD
Rating: PG 13
Spoilers: None
Pairing: Abby/McGee
Warnings: Really insane.
Author's notes: I have no idea where this came from but I was supposed to be studying, so this is what happened.

“AM I THE LAST SANE PERSON IN THE WORLD?”

“Come on, Abby. We’re going to ‘The Crypt’ tonight.”
“I know and I would love nothing more than to be there, but I have work.” She tried explaining. As much as she loved her job so much, sometimes it was harder than it needed to be.
“You’re missing out, my friend.” Draven said. “Call me, if by some miracle, you get out of work early for once.”
“I will. Have fun.”

“Let me know when you have something else.” Gibbs started for the door.
“Patience, El Jefe.” Abby objected. “I always have more.”
“Well?”
“The fingerprints match those of Lieutenant Chambers. He was in the house he claimed never to have seen before.”
“Good job, Abs.” He said kissing her cheek before walking toward the door again.
“Any chance I can leave earlier tonight?” She called after him. He kept walking into the elevator, turning when he was inside, giving her a look. “I didn’t think so.”
“You okay, Abs?” Tony asked when Gibbs had left the lab.
“I’m fine.”
“You and McGee having trouble again?” He asked stepping closer to her.
“What? McGee and I are not together, and I don’t know what you’ve been told.” She said defensively. “And there is nothing wrong with me. I just wanted to go out tonight, is all.”
“McGee doesn’t want to play tonight?”
“What is your obsession with McGee?” Abby asked. “Look, I’m fine. I need to get back to these results so I can get some sleep this week, and then maybe fit in a life.”
“Okay, fine.” He said leaving the lab.

“Too much sunlight.” Abby groaned as she turned away from the unwelcome brightness. Then a thought occurred to her. If she was in her bed, there would be no way sunlight could make it through her heavy black drapes. So, she was in someone else’s house. Trying to remember through her drunken haze just made her head throb harder. So, trying to focus her senses without hurting her over-worked brain, she buried her head into the sheets. They smelled like McGee.
“McGee’s bed. A better place than many.”
She decided going back to sleep would only do her more good. She was almost gone when loud screaming interrupted her sleep, and something jumped on the bed.
“Mommy, get up.”
“What’s going on?” Abby asked trying to open her eyes.
“Mommy, mommy, mommy.” Another voice pierced landing on the bed next to the other voice.
“No more yelling.” Abby tried and then rubbed her eyes until they could open. She looked up to where she saw two little girls. One appeared to be three and the other a little older.
“Sorry Mommy.” The older one said.
“What did you call me?” Abby asked.
“Ladies, breakfast is ready. Why don’t you go wait in the kitchen while Mommy wakes up properly?” Timothy McGee said from the door way, smiling at the little ones.
“Okay, Daddy.” The older one said jumping down from the bed. “Come on, Abianne.” She said helping her sister off the bed.
“Thanks Sara.” He said. “We’ll be there in a second. Don’t touch the plates on the bench, baby.”
“McGee, what the hell is going on?” Abby asked, sitting up in the bed, only then noticing that she was wearing a pink night gown.
“What’s the matter, Hun?” He tried. She buried her head in her hands.
“This is so not right.”
“Abs, what’s going on?” He asked sitting down on the bed facing her.
“How much did I drink last night?”
“Drink? Not since the baby.” He said pointing to her abdomen. That’s when she noticed the rather noticeable bump.
“What? I don’t know what’s going on, but this is so not funny?” She said feeling around her stomach to the foreign shape. Abby put her hands back to her head. “Maybe I fell over and have a head injury.” She theorized.
“When did you fall over? Do I need to call the doctor?” He asked worriedly, putting his hand to the baby bump. She immediately pushed his hand away.
“I’m fine. I just need to get to work, or something.”
“Work? You haven’t worked since Sara was born.” He said.
“Okay. I just need to go out. To clear my head.” Abby said looking for some clothes.
“If you’re sure you’re okay. I’ll give the girls breakfast and call Gibbs to tell him I’ll be a little late, while I take Sara to school and Abianne to my mother’s.”
“Great.” She said after she pulled on a dress, taking a minute to assess her new body shape. “This is crazy.”
“You sure you’re alright?” He asked stepping behind her and putting his hands on her shoulders.
“Yeah. Just really confused.” She said calmly as he kissed her neck romantically.

“Where you going, Mommy?” Sara asked.
“I’m just going to see someone. I’ll be back later.” She promised.
“Mommy?” Abianne called after her.
“Yeah.” She was never supposed to get used to that.
“Where’s my squg?”

Abby walked out the door after trying to act as they all expected her to. She looked around for her hearse, and got more confused when she didn’t see it.
“Mrs. McGee. You’re looking radiant this morning.” A neighbor called out.
“Um, hi. How are you?”
“Can’t complain. How are Sara and Abi?” The older woman asked.
“Good. Just eating breakfast now.”
“That husband of your’s. He’s a keeper.”
“Yep. Sorry, I have to cut this short. I have to be somewhere.” She said deciding to walk until she got far enough away from the house to call someone she knew.
“Of course. Have a great day, Abigail.”
“Thanks. You too. I swear. Am I the last sane person in the world?” She muttered to herself as she started walking.

Abbyforever

TITLE: FEAR: PART 8- RUNAWAY
Song: Runaway from P!nk
Warnings: Abuse, domestic abuse, violence etc etc.
Style: Tarantino style (jumping from now to ten years ago and other etc)
Pairing: Abby/OMC
Disclaimer: I own Thomas and Shayla. No one else. Oh, and now Jade, Loritta, Braelan and Renata. That is all.
Author's note: Just when you thought this writer or story couldn't get any crazier, she does it again. The most schitzo story you'll ever read. Enjoy.

I'm too young to be
Taken seriously
But I'm too old to believe
All this hypocrisy

“Shayla, I need to know anything you can tell me to help your mother.”
“Help her with what? What happened to her?” Shayla asked, rising from her chair. She looked at Ziva and she was not happy. “You told me nothing was wrong.”
“It’ll all be fine. But Shayla, we need your help.”
“Promise me, she’s not hurt.” Shayla demanded.
“I promise.” He said sitting on the couch. She soon sat back down.
“What do you think I would know?” She asked. “I was only four when it all happened.”
“I know there’s something you’re not telling me.” Shayla looked up at Gibbs and then back down. Finally she understood everything her mother had told her about this man. Suddenly her mouth started moving without her control.
“There’s one thing but I swore to my mother…”
“It can help.” Gibbs convinced her.
“Maybe.” She said and he looked at her in a way prompting her to continue. “Okay, but this can’t get back to Thomas.”
“I’m not telling him anything.” He said crossing his hand over his chest.
“It was a few months after we left…”

**FLASHBACK**

“Mommy.”
“Yes, Petal.” Vanessa said putting the last few plates away, after they’d finished dinner.
“I think you are eating too much dinner.” She said contemplating her thoughts for a second.
“Um, okay. Where did that come from?” Vanessa asked. “Why do you think Mommy’s eating too much dinner?” She asked her nearly five year old.
“You’ve got a belly.” Shayla laughed pointing to her mother’s girth.
“Oh honey, that’s not from eating too much. This is your baby brother or sister.”
“Why is he there?” Shayla asked, not understanding. The little girl approached her mother, and as if afraid, put her hand slowly to the bump. When nothing bad happened, she put her head where her hand had been, trying to listen in. “I don’t think he’s in there, Momma.”
“The baby’s there, Pet. You just can’t hear it yet.”

**END OF FLASHBACK**

“She was pregnant.” Ziva stated.
“Yes.”

I might have nowhere left to go
But I know that I cannot go home
These words are trapped inside my head
Tell me to run before I'm dead
Chase the rainbows in my mind
And I will try to stay alive

**FLASHBACK**

“Hi.” The woman as she entered the elevator with ‘Rachel’ and Shayla.
“New in the building?” Rachel asked.
“Yes. Alicia.” She said putting her hand out.
“Rachel, and this is Shayla.” She introduced.
“Hey there darling.” Alicia said bending down to the little girl’s height.
“Hi.” She said quickly before burying her head in her mother’s legs.
“She can usually talk your ear off. Now, suddenly, she’s shy.”
“When are you due?”
“Within the next two weeks, give or take.” Rachel said looking down at the baby she thought would never stop growing.
“Congratulations. I’m a midwife at St. Brigid’s Maternity hospital.” She said. “Where are you having your check-ups?”
“Oh, this is our floor. I would love to talk some more, what floor are you on?” Rachel asked as she grabbed Shayla’s hand to exit the elevator.
“4B. Drop by anytime you want and hopefully I wont be at work. Nice meeting you Rachel. And Shayla.”
“You too Alicia. Thanks.”

“Baby, Mommy has to go see the nice lady we just met for a second. I’m going to lock the door. Now, who do you open it for?” She asked.
“No one.”
“Not even…?”
“You or daddy, or the policeman.” Shayla rattled off.
“That’s my girl. Go and watch tv."

“Rachel, was it?” Alicia asked as she opened her door to the red-headed woman she had met in the elevator.
“Yes. I was wondering if I could push our new friendship.” She asked, nervously.
“Please, come in.” She welcomed, closing the door behind them, and walking to the couch. “Have a seat.”
“Thanks.”
“What can I help you with?” Alicia asked sitting next to her.
“I need your expertise.” She started, looking down. “Obviously.”
“You don’t have a doctor yet?” She asked, shocked.
“Really complicated story.” She said taking a deep breath before deciding this was something she needed to do. “I couldn’t go to the hospital or any doctor for my check-ups.”
“For your entire pregnancy?” Alicia didn’t know what to say.
“Yes. I can’t really do anything or go anywhere that will require identification.”
“I don’t know if I should be hearing this.”
“Alicia, I didn’t break the law. My husband’s trying to kill me.”
“Oh my God.” Alicia couldn’t believe what she was hearing.
“I need you to deliver my baby.”
“Wait, what?”
“I’ll pay you what ever you want. I just need help with this.” She begged, tears forming in her eyes. “I don’t know what else to do.”
“I’ll help you, but you need to go to a hospital.”
“That is not an option. I’ll be dead before the baby is even born. I need your word that you wont repeat what I have told you.”
“I swear. Can I think about this?”Alicia asked, her mind spinning.
“Sure. I have to get back to Shayla anyway, and start making her dinner. We’re in 3C.”

**END OF FLASHBACK**

And I wonder
How long it'll take them to see my bed is made
And I wonder
If I was a mistake

“What happened?” Ziva asked, intrigued.
“When the time came, the nurse from upstairs came through. From what I was told, there were no complications. My brother was born healthy.”
“What happened to him? I mean, where is he?” Gibbs asked.

Abbyforever

Fear- Part 6
TITLE: FEAR: PART 7- TIL' DEATH DO US PART
Song: Til death do us part by Madonna
Warnings: Abuse, domestic abuse, violence etc etc.
Style: Tarantino style (jumping from now to ten years ago and other etc)
Pairing: Abby/OMC
Disclaimer: I own Thomas and Shayla. No one else. Oh, and now Jade, Loritta, Braelan and Renata. That is all.

“Have you seen Shayla?” Abby asked as she sat in the visiting room with Tony.
“Haven’t since you came in here. But she’s fine, according to Ziva.”
“Good.”
“I need you to tell me what happened the night you shot Thomas.” He blurted out. That’s what he was sent there for by Gibbs. That and to check on her.
“Wow, that was completely random.” She said trying to hide her discomfort.
“Well…?” He tried again. He hated that he had taken the smile from her face and the expression left was one he wasn’t used to.
“Must we?”
“Yes. It’s important. For the case.” He added.
“But I have gone over it a million times. Trust me.” Abby tried, begging with him to not ask questions.
“Abby, I promise you it’ll be worth it.”

You need so much but not from me
Turn your back in my hour of need
Something's wrong but you pretend you don't see
I think I interrupt your life
When you laugh it cuts me just like a knife
I'm not your friend, I'm just your little wife

Now he recognized that look. The same one she had when he had been disappointed in her for not telling them about Mikel Mower. Now he cursed himself for being an asshole when she was obviously dealing with something bigger than they knew. She closed her eyes and let out a breath before opening them again to look at Tony.

“Okay.” Abby finally said looking back down at the table between them. Her hands were bound together as she attempted to fiddle with rings that were no longer gracing her fingers. Obvious nervous habit. That’s when Tony noticed the tiny heart tattoo that took the place of a wedding ring, that was usually covered by a large leather ring or latex gloves at work.

They never laugh, not like before
She takes the keys, he breaks the door
She cannot stay here anymore
He's not in love with her anymore

“Vanessa decided to leave Thomas after he pushed Shayla.” She started, disassociating instantly to be able to talk about it freely. Not consciously.
“He did?”
“He was beating her when she came back in the room. Shayla tried to pull Thomas away and he accidentally pushed her out of the way when she grabbed his arm.” Abby justified and then winced. “Not that it wasn’t just a matter of time until he did inflict on her what he did on Van… me.” She corrected when she realized how she was talking.
“And then what?”
“After he realized what he did, he took off. He didn’t come back until after Shayla was in bed and I had planned to leave him. He blamed me for what happened, and I told him to ‘go to hell’. But I didn’t give him the impression that I was getting out of there with Shay that night.”
“Okay. So why did you shoot him?” Tony asked when she stopped speaking, looking everywhere but at him.
“We snuck out while he was sleeping. Or so I thought. He caught up to us when we got to the car and he dragged me back into the house.”
“In front of Shayla?” He asked, shocked.
“Yes. He started kicking me again, and I knew Shayla was screaming in the car. It had to stop. And I knew that he would have killed me that night if I didn’t do something and that was not going to happen to Shayla. And that was before I found out he already got rid of another wife and child.”
“Self defense?”
“In every sense of the words.” Abby said looking at him squarely. “Everything I have done, every law I have broken, every document I forged. It was all for survival.”

The bruises they will fade away
I will not stay to watch your hate as it grows
She's had enough, she says the end

“No boyfriends yet? Suppose that’s not out of the realm of possibility for a nearly sixteen year old.” Ziva said as she and Shayla tried conversation again. Ziva picked it as a safe topic but the look on her face told her she once again failed.
“Apparently I have trust issues with the opposite sex.” She said quietly. “But, it doesn’t bother me that I’m not like all the other girls my age.” She added, adding a smile. The older woman was trying so hard.
“Truly your mother’s daughter.”
“Yeah. So what’s your deal, Ziva?” Shayla asked finally.
“My deal?” Ziva asked, confused.
“Your story. I am sick of talking about my screwed up childhood. Tell me about you.” Shayla said in a familiarly quick speed.
“What would you like to know?”
“Anything.”

He makes demands, she draws the line
He starts the fight, she starts the lie
But what is truth when something dies
He's not in love with her anymore

“Did you get anything?” Gibbs asked when Tony returned.
“She’s coping. Pretty well, actually.” He said.
“I knew that much. Anything that’ll help?”
“Just what we already had.” Tony said.
“I’m going out for coffee.” Gibbs said leaving the office immediately.

“Gibbs, what are you doing here?” Ziva asked when he showed up at her apartment. She lowered her weapon and stepped aside to let the man in.
“I need to talk to Shayla.” He said. The young girl looked up from the book she was reading.
“Shayla here, you’re on the air.” She chirped the way her mother always did.
“Shayla, I need to ask you a few questions.”
“Okay.”

But she'll come back, she knows it then
A chance to start it all again
Till death do us part

Abbyforever

Gibbs' party~Abby/Fornell

TITLE: Gibbs' party~ After the party
Pairing: Abby/Fornell, hints at Abby/Gibbs
Rating: PG 13+ for swearing.
Author's note: This is another moment when the pairing is due to the fact that I swore to write every single Abby pairing.

There is an update for this one that is exclusive to LJ while the resourse is being a bastard.

Here are the first two parts:
CHAPTER 1.

"Surprise!" Everyone yelled as he entered the squad-room with his coffee. He was ready to attack some of his paperwork and was genuinely surprised. Abby had told him the surprise party wasn't until the next day.

People enjoyed the party, the music, the atmosphere. The alcohol Tony had supplied helped too. Everyone got up and danced at one stage. Except the two bastards of the room. Gibbs and Fornell.
"Come on Gibbs. Dance with me." Abby tried.
"I don't dance."
"You shouldn't be a party-pooper at our own party." Abby complained and he could tell she had been drinking some. "I'm funny when I'm drunk." She said laughing. Tony then appeared next to her and swooped her back to the dance floor. "Bye." She yelled giggling as she was pulled away.

When most people had left, the only people remaining were Ziva, Abby, Tony, Gibbs and Fornell.

“Here.” Tony said offering out shots again.
“No, I can’t.” Abby said. “Okay, maybe one more.” She said taking the cup.
“That’s the way.” He encouraged “Ziva?”
“No chance.” She said giggling. Ziva had definitely drank enough.
“Gibbs?” Tony asked offering a glass.
“You’re trying to get everyone as drunk as you DiNozzo.” He pointed out taking the cup from him.
“Of course. That way you can all have as much fun as me.” He justified.
“We are having fun.” Abby said trying to stand up.
“Maybe we could play a game of truth or dare.” He suggested.
“Yeah, you just want to see certain people making out.” Abby said throwing back the shot.
“Busted. Truth or dare?” He asked her when the other’s appeared to get back to whatever they were doing.
“Why don’t I just save you the trouble and start kissing Ziva?” Abby asked.
“You would?” He asked and his eyes were wide open.
“Of course.” Abby started and then grabbed Ziva by the waist. When their faces were inches away from each other, Ziva registered what was going on.
“Abs?”
“Shhh.” Abby said putting her finger on the other woman’s lip to silence her. Abby whispered into her ear and then pulled back, both were laughing.
“You wish DiNozzo.” They said in unison. Abby put her arm around the other woman’s shoulder to steady herself.

“Whoa.” Tony said when he put his head up. The dizziness over-came him as he tried to stand up. The light that shone through the windows of the NCIS building was painful.
“Keep it down over there.” Ziva moaned as she shifted in her seat. “Why are you yelling?”
“I didn’t yell.”
“You’re still doing it.” Ziva said moving her hair out of her face.
“When did I pass out?” Tony asked.
“Some time after the twelfth shot. Everyone crashed here when no one could remember the number for a cab.” Ziva explained.
“Where’s Gibbs?” Tony asked keeping his eyes shut to block out some of the light.
“Listening to you talk too loudly.” Gibbs said from behind him. He had a coffee in his hand and a Caf-Pow in the other. The only thing Abby would need to recover from the hang-over she would have.
“Hey Boss.”

“Abs?” Gibbs asked when he walked into the trashed lab. There were balloons, empty drink cups and scattered clothing items on the ground and chairs.
“Give me five more… hours.” Abby groaned burying herself into the blanket she was using on the futon.
“What about for this?” He offered shaking the cup that rattled with the ice in it. One of her eyes opened and her arm darted out to grab the cup. That’s when Gibbs, Ziva and Tony realized that she was not wearing her clothing any more.
“Abs, where are your clothes?” Ziva asked.
“Um… I don’t know.” Abby said finally opening her eyes fully and sitting up pulling the blanket to cover herself.
“Do you usually strip when you crash while you’re drunk?” Tony asked not taking his eyes off her yet.
“Only when I… uh oh.” Abby said when she realized. Before she could tell them what she had realized or get them out of there, the automatic doors to her lab opened. They all turned around to see who their guest was, and all were shocked by the discovery. Fornell stumbled in holding onto the wall, obviously suffering from a nasty hangover. All he had on was his boxers and his hair was mussed. He hadn’t looked up yet as he dropped down onto the futon next to Abby, kissing her bare back before laying back down.
“Um… Fornell?” Abby said.
“Yeah.”
“You might not want to do that in front of everyone.” She suggested and then he sat up quickly and started to look around the lab.
“Jethro, DiNutzo, David.” He said as normally as always.
“Fornell, what the hell is going on?” Gibbs asked obviously pissed. “Conference room, now.”
“Give me a second.” Fornell tried.
“NOW!”

“Abs, Fornell?” Tony asked.
“I honestly don’t remember a lot of last night.” Abby said reaching for her clothes.
“Abby, what were you thinking?” Ziva asked.
“I wasn’t Ziva. You know how drunk we all were. I don’t even know how it started.”
“But you remember it happening?” Tony asked.
“No complaints.” Abby said winking at him. If he was going to be like that, she was going to have fun with him. That would shut him up.

CHAPTER 2.

“What the hell do you think you’re doing?” Gibbs asked as he slammed the emergency stop button on the elevator.
“It wasn’t planned. But if I had to choose for it to happen again, I would.” He smirked. Gibbs pushed him hard against the side of the elevator.
“Stay away from her.” He said letting go of the other man before starting the elevator up again.
“Gibbs, you have no right to comment on what happened between Abby and my self.” He said stepping out of the elevator, where Ziva, Tony and Abby still stood. Abby had dressed in her bathroom, but her hair was still down and she wasn’t wearing make-up.
“Fornell, I am warning you if you try this again…” Gibbs threatened not realizing that they were back in the lab.
“What Gibbs?” Fornell asked as he got to Abby. “What are you going to do, because she is not your’s.” He said putting his arm around her shoulder.
“She is mine and will never be your’s.” Gibbs snapped.
“Excuse me for a second. Everyone’s plaything wants to say something.” Abby said finally losing her patience, pushing Fornell’s arm away.
“Abs, I didn’t mean it like that.” Gibbs tried.
“No, don’t, really.” She said quietly. “I didn’t like these testosterone competitions in high-school and I don’t now.” Abby said storming out.

“You okay, Abs?” Tony asked when he found her in autopsy. It was still too early for Ducky to be there so she was sitting alone on one of the tables.
“Jerks.” She muttered. He sat up on the table next to her.
“What do you think has gotten into Gibbs?”
“I have no idea. I mean, since when is he that possessive? Of anyone.” She said putting her hands up in the air.
“Abs, don’t you think that’s suspicious?” He asked.
“What?”
“Gibbs didn’t object to Fornell taking one of his wives. Why do you think he’s so pissed about the two of you?”
“No. No way.” She said shaking her head.
“Think about it.” He said as the automatic doors opened. Surprisingly Ziva walked in.
“I was looking for you. Fornell’s gone and Gibbs wants to talk to you.”
“I’m going home to change before a case comes in.”

“Abby. I didn’t expect you here.” Gibbs said as he opened his door to her. Everyone had gone home and a case hadn’t come in yet. Gibbs didn’t attempt to contact Abby, and went back to work on his boat.
“I need to talk to you.” She said walking passed him.
“Okay.”

“Well?” She asked as they sat in his kitchen.
“What?” Gibbs asked. “I thought you wanted to talk.”
“I want you to tell me why you are acting like this. With the whole Fornell thing.” She reminded him.
“I don’t know why. I just don’t want you to get involved with him.”
“It was one drunken night, and I don’t know why you are talking like we’re engaged.”

And...
CHAPTER 3.

“Do you have anything else to tell me? The real reason Fornell and I together bothers you?” Abby said looking hard at Gibbs. As always he was completely emotionless.
“No.”

“Abigail. Come in.” Ducky said when he opened the door to the young woman.
“Sorry to bother you at home, Ducky.” She said even as he welcomed her into the house with an encouraging hand at the small of her back.
“Not at all.” He said sincerely as he took her cape off her shoulders and lovingly hung it on the coat rack by the door.
“You’re just the only person I wanted to talk to about this and I have to do it today otherwise I wont be able to sleep. I can go if you…” She said and didn’t plow herself into the couch as she always did when she visited Ducky.
“Talk to me Abby.” He said kindly, pointing to the couch to get her to sit down.
“It’s Gibbs. And Fornell as it would seem.” Abby started, not sitting because then she wouldn’t be able to pace around the living room.
“Fornell?” He asked, confused.
“Yeah. Long story. Anyways, the short version is that we slept together the night of Gibbs’ party. Gibbs found out and he went ballistic.” Abby explained moving both hands in front of her face, animatedly.
“I can imagine.” Ducky said.
“What?” She asked as if he knew more than she did. “He started to get all possessive and I stormed out on both of them.”
“How do you feel about that?”
“Feel about what? I have no idea what’s going on here.” She said, frustrated.
“Well, it seems to be quite obvious, my dear.”
“What? That they’re both bastards?” She asked and then they both laughed.
“Well, that. And the fact that Gibbs wants you to himself.”
“But I’m allowed to date whoever I want. I’ve even broken rule 12 without getting in trouble, and Fornell was just an alcohol induced… thing.” She said struggling to articulate what exactly happened between herself and the FBI Special Agent.
“Perhaps, he wants to date you himself.” Ducky suggested.
“What? Are you for real?” She asked.
“For sure? No. But if I know anything about Jethro and after all these years, I hope that I do, it is that he adores you Abigail.”
“Yeah, but he adores you. And Tony and Ziva.”
“Yes. But the way he feels about you is quite different to the way he feels about the rest of us, my dear.”
“You think?” She asked seriously contemplating it. “Still doesn’t mean he gets to control who I sleep with.”
“No, but he and Fornell have always had a very volatile friendship. Now, it would appear, he’s crossed a line.”

“You have to talk to me eventually, Gibbs.” Tobias said as he found Gibbs as usual. In his basement, concentrating all his anger into sanding his boat.
“No, I do not.” The other man replied, not looking up from what he was doing.
“If it makes you feel any better, she is refusing to talk to me too.”
“I’m sure I said I didn’t want to talk to you.” Gibbs said definitely.
“I know you’re pissed.”
“I suggest you stop talking to me too.”

“I even went to his house so he could say what he wanted to say without anyone listening. He didn’t have anything to say.”
“Do you want me to talk to him?” Ducky offered.
“No. He’s a grown man.” Abby said. “Well, I should get home and stop dumping my problem on you.”
“Abigail, you don’t need to leave yet.” Ducky tried.
“Yes, I do. Chances are, I’ll have to work today. I may even get the trifecta and Fornell’ll end up at NCIS on our case.” She said. “But thanks, Duck. It really helped.” Abby kissed the older man on the cheek and walked to the coat-rack to fetch her cape. Ducky gently took it from her and placed it over her shoulders, always the gentleman.

Abbyforever

TITLE: FEAR: PART 6- CAGED
Song: Caged by Within Temptation
Warnings: Abuse, domestic abuse, violence etc etc. This chapter takes on a different level of f-ed up. You'll know what I mean.
Style: Tarantino style (jumping from now to ten years ago and other etc)
Pairing: Abby/OMC
Disclaimer: I own Thomas and Shayla. No one else. Oh, and now Jade, Loritta, Braelan and Renata. That is all.

CHAPTER 6: CAGED

Everyone with a friendly face
Seems to hide some secret inside

“What am I doing here?” Shayla asked. Ziva had cooked them a wonderful meal, but Shayla couldn’t stand the silence and knew that something was going on. Something she wasn’t being told.
“You’ll find out soon. Your mother just has to take care of a few things.” Ziva said.
“Okay, I get that. But why am I here specifically? You don’t seem like the type that likes kids around.”
“I’m not.” Ziva said. “But you’re nearly 16, that isn’t really a kid.”

**FLASHBACK**

“So you know about my wife and daughter?” Gibbs asked Ziva as she stood in Abby’s lab, mere days after Kate’s death.
“Yes. I’m sorry.” Ziva answered sincerely. Suddenly she felt bad that she had investigated all there was to know about this team, now seeing what they were going through. So, most of them had skeletons in their closets that Ari could use against them. It had nothing to do with her. She was doing her job. That was all.

“I lost my sister Tali. She was sixteen and the best of us.” She revealed to Tony. About all she ever revealed to Tony. “She had compassion.”

And Abby had hated her from the start. Maybe it was because she knew too much about the Goth woman. Ziva had said the names ‘Vanessa’ and ‘Shayla’, and Abby had nearly taken a swing at her. Even threatened that if she told anyone, including their co-workers, about her daughter and their past, that she would kill her without leaving any forensic evidence. Until she was sure that Ziva was not going to reveal anything, they were never really on speaking terms. After time, they finally grew closer.

“You asked me about Shayla.” Abby reminded her one day after they worked a case where a little girl was kidnapped on Halloween.
“Yes.”
“She’s incredible, smart, beautiful, confident, and resilient.” Abby revealed, taking a photo out of her drawer. “Maybe one day you would like to meet her.”
“I’d like that.” Ziva said looking at the picture. She was a beautiful girl, with her mother’s dimples and big eyes. But they were brightly blue, rather than green, and her nearly white, blonde hair was curly and much like her own. Unlike she’d seen Abby’s, perhaps once before. “So that time you had to wear a suit cos of the Director, and your hair was curly, that was how it naturally is?” Ziva asked.
“Is that another thing we can keep between us?”
“Yes.”
“Then yes.”

**END OF FLASHBACK**

“So you’re not going to tell me where she is.” Shayla concluded.
“Your Mom asked me a while ago to protect you if she couldn’t. I agreed.”

These are the darkest clouds
To have surrounded me
Now I find my self alone caught in a cage

“What did you do?”
“I didn’t do anything.” Abby said without looking up at her cell-mate. “Let’s get that straight.”
“I never heard that one before.” Loritta Tween said throwing her head back against her hard bunk. “Hey guard! We got another innocent one!”
“What’d you do?” Abby asked, pissed at the other woman’s presumption of her.
“Beautiful story. The no-good son of a bitch I married came home from work thinking his dinner would be on the table. It wasn’t so he started beating the shit out of me, as usual.” She explained.
“And then what?” Abby asked, intrigued at the familiar story.
“He got his dinner. Bastard didn’t see it coming, he collapsed to the ground.” Loritta said, almost smiling.
“What was it?”
“Rat poison. Didn’t sit well with his stomach and his meatloaf.” She said. “Oh well, the look on his face when he realized what I did is worth the years I’ll be stuck in here.”
“Got any kids?” Abby asked.
“No, thank God.” She said. “You?”
“Yep. That’s why I never tried the rat poison thing.” Abby revealed, feeling a new respect for this woman. But knowing that in another circumstance, she would have done that same thing scared her.
“Married to a spineless son of a bitch too?” Loritta asked, actually smiling at Abby.
“Yes.”

“Jethro, why are you still working this case?” Jen asked when she entered the lab. Gibbs and McGee were at the computer trying to achieve what Abby would be able to.
“What do you mean, Director?” Gibbs asked.
“I know what you’re doing. You searched Abby’s house.”
“Yes, we did.” He said without hesitation.
“You are not to investigate this case. Anything you find will not do Abby any good.” Jen said and McGee turned back to the computer, not working, just excluding himself from the conversation.
“I am not going to let her stay in that jail without doing everything I can do get her out. Even if I have to go over your head, Director, I will.” He said coming in within an inch of her face.
“I know that you will do what you have to do for Abby, even at the risk of your job and life. But, think about everything you do. You don’t want to make things worse for Abby.” She warned.
“I wouldn’t.” He said and she knew he meant it. She walked out, letting him know that she knew he would continue investigating, and that she wanted him to. But couldn’t say it.

He told me he loved me
While he laughed in my face
He took my virtue

“Have we got anything yet?” Tony asked when he returned to the lab.
“Not yet. You?”
“Thomas Caldwell is a very wealthy man.” He started when he was interrupted by Gibbs.
“Anything pertinent to this case?” He asked, obviously pissed off.
“Sorry, Boss. Thomas Caldwell does not have a criminal record, nothing. Not even when he was young.” He said. “But then again, like I said, he’s loaded. I’m sure his folks got him out of any trouble he got into.”
“Any proof, DiNozzo?”
“I got an email from Ziva. Information she got from her sources that we can’t talk about. Thomas was married once before he married Ab… Vanessa. Renate Caldwell supposedly fell down the stairs in their home, three years after they were married. They had a daughter Braelan. She went missing a month after Renata’s suspicious death.”
“He killed Renata?” McGee asked, shocked.
“No proof. Braelan was only three, and she was missing for more than a day from her bedroom before Thomas called the police.” Tony said. “He cried and apologized for not calling sooner when the police picked him up. Said he was looking for her himself and even went to the extreme of hiring a private investigator. No luck so he stopped paying the P.I after a day.”
“What happened to Braelan?” McGee asked.
“It is still unsolved.”
“Why was there nothing about that in his police record?” Gibbs asked.
“Money.”

“Braelan? He wanted Shayla to be named Braelan, but for once, I refused. And Shayla was the closest I would agree to.” Abby said when Gibbs visited her in prison. “He wanted to name our child after one he probably killed.”
“Appears that way.”
“That bastard.”

Everyone with a friendly face
Seems to hide some secret inside
Always there to remind me
To keep me from believing
That someone might be there
Who'll free me and never ever leave me

“Jade, what are you doing here?” Abby asked when she entered the visitation room. She was expecting someone like Gibbs or Tony, or even her attorney. Not her former best friend.
“I’ve missed you, Vanessa. It’s been too long.” Jade tried, putting her hand on the table between them.
“Abby, not Vanessa. I tried to call you when Shay and I got settled. You dumped us. I thought you would be my friend forever.” Abby snapped.
“I wanted to still talk to you. I can’t believe we lost touch. How is Shayla?” The other woman asked, absently running her fingers over her baby-bump.
“Fine. What do you want Jade?” Abby asked.
“I wanted to see you.”
“How did you know I was here?” Abby said, finally losing the last of her patience.
“Thomas.”
“Why would you talk to him after you saw what he put us through? You are the one that told me to leave him. To get Shayla the hell out of there before he killed us.”
“He’s changed, Ness.”
“I am NOT Vanessa.” She snapped again. “And there is no way you are going to sit there and tell me that he’s a changed man.”
“He is.”
“Oh no, you are not.” Abby swore. “You married that bastard, didn’t you?”
“I did but it was long after you took off. You broke his heart.”
“I should have broken his neck. You married him and let him knock you up?”
“I did. All he wants is contact with his first daughter Shayla.”
“He wont see her ever again. And neither will you.” Abby said standing up. “First daughter? You’re even dumber than I remember.”
“Come on, Nessa. I would love to have what we used to.”
“Okay, I’ll give you some best-friend advice, Jade. Don’t buy a house with stairs.”

Is there a place more lonely than I feel within?
Could I have seen?
Could I have known?

“You’re smiling.” Loritta said when Abby returned to her cell.
“Yeah.”
“Good visitor?”
“Not really. But one that could never shut her mouth.” Abby said. “And she has given me a gift better than any one could.”

Abbyforever

As soon as my attorney gets here, I’ll have your badge.” Thomas threatened. The way he was sitting in the chair, with pure confidence, Gibbs was starting to see through.
“You can certainly talk tough. I’ll give you that.” Gibbs responded, not even slightly intimidated by the man.
“You’re all going to pay for this.”
“You like to beat up women. And yet, despite that much strength and anger, you haven’t felt brave enough to take a swing at me.”
“I know what you’re trying to do, and it’s not going to work. I am not some hick you’ve picked up, and I am not an idiot. I went to Yale.”
“I’m impressed.” Gibbs said sipping his coffee.

Shall he rule again?

“Husband?” Tony asked again as they sat in the lab. Abby was explaining everything to Tony, McGee, Ziva and Ducky as Shayla sat in the Ballistics lab listening to music.
“Ex-husband, as soon as it’s on paper.” Abby clarified.
“I’m sorry, I just can’t picture you getting married.” He added.
“Now, no.” She said looking down at herself. “But Vanessa was a different person.”
“And you have a child too.” Ducky reminded them. “How old is she?”
“Shayla will be 16 next month.”
“Which makes you..?” Tony pried.
“Old enough to have a 16 year old.”
“Okay.”
“This is too strange.” Ziva finally said.
“Yeah, that’s me. Queen of all MOAS’s.” Abby added.
“Tell me about it.” Tony said laughing.
“MOAS?” Ziva asked.
“Mother of all secrets.”
“Oh.”

As faith for the future faded fast
He grows strong with their displeasure
It sets him free.

“Special Agent Gibbs, I presume?” A tall, suited man asked, barging into interrogation.
“You must be this expensive attorney I keep hearing about.”
“One and the same. I’ll ask you to stop talking to my client until he and I speak alone.”
“It’s okay, Mel. Gibbs and I were just talking about Vanessa.” Thomas said.
“How expensive are we talking?” Gibbs asked out of curiosity.
“This conversation alone would cost your house.”
“Thomas, you disappoint me.” Gibbs huffed.
“Excuse me?” He asked.
“I can’t even afford to take her to court…I can’t express enough, how badly I hate talking to liars. And even worse, when they actually think they are going to get my help.”
“Do you have anything on my client?” Mel asked, standing up and gathering his brief-case.
“A complainant.” He said simply.
“Vanessa Caldwell, I’m sure.”
“And if it is?”
“Have you any evidence? At all.” Mel asked.
“He beat her again, just like he used to.” Gibbs said. “She is covered in bruises. We have hospital reports from twelve years ago when he nearly killed her. Now, like then, your ring left a prominent mark on her body as you punched her. Not too bright for a guy who went to Yale.” Gibbs mocked.
“Twelve years ago? You mean, when Mrs. Caldwell shot my client and kidnapped his daughter?” Mel asked.
“Vanessa legally obtained the weapon after being out in the hospital six times by your client. Three times while she was pregnant. That’s not a man that loves his wife and certainly not one that loves his child.”

“Gibbs’ll get him.” Tony said confidently.
“No, you don’t understand. He has money, power and charm. He’ll get himself out of this. He always does.”
“Gibbs never loses his man.” Ducky said.
“He lost Ari. And one of us ended up dead. I’m sorry, but that can’t happen.” Abby said nodding toward where Shayla could be seen dancing animatedly in the lab, not paying attention to the other people.

“Mom.”
“Yeah?” Abby answered automatically. It freaked them all out.
“It’s Thomas, isn’t it?” The young girl asked. Her pale eyes and hair, still strangely resembling Abby. Ziva and Tony also noticed that Shayla had long disassociated with her father. “Tell me.”
“Yes, it is.” Abby admitted.
“I don’t want to see him. You promised me that.” She said starting to get angry and upset.
“And have I ever broken a promise to you, Shay? Ever?” Abby asked.
“No.”
“Then you have nothing to worry about.” Abby said running her hand over her daughter’s head.

In a world of the free
He plays with your mind

“This has been fun, Special Agent Gibbs. Tell Vanessa I look forward to seeing her in court. And tell Shayla I love her and can’t wait until she’s living with me.” Thomas said gathering his coat from the back of the seat and draping it over his shoulders.
“Don’t stray too far, Thomas. I guarantee, I will get you.” Gibbs said.
“Since, not a thing in this case pertains to the Navy or the Marines, you have absolutely no jurisdiction on this. And I will be sure to remind your Director of that.” Mel said holding out his hand to Gibbs. He ignored it and the attorney put it down smiling.

“Vanessa Caldwell, you are under arrest for assault, fraud, kidnapping, unlawful detainment and attempted murder.” The Police officer said as he turned the Goth woman around and hand-cuffed her.
“What the hell?” Abby asked.
“Where is Shayla Caldwell?” The other officer asked as she was escorted out of the lab.
“She’s safe. Leave her alone.” Abby yelled.
“Where is the child?”
“You’re already arresting me. Leave my daughter out of this.”

“Gibbs, you need to get down here.” Tony said as soon as his boss answered his cell. He was in the Director’s office discussing what they could do within the law for Abby.
“What, DiNozzo?”
“Abby’s been arrested.” He said quickly as Ziva took off to do what Abby had asked her.
“What?” He said hanging up the phone and bolting out of the office.

“Tell them where Shayla is.” The public defender tried.
“No. You can’t take her from me.”
“You’ll go to jail.” She warned.
“As opposed to…?” Abby asked. “I’m already on my way to years in here, I’ll do some extra years for Shayla.”

A sheltering ray shines through this night
Although it 's small, it's bright
But darkness is lurking

“Where is my mother?” Shayla asked as she sat in Ziva’s apartment. The request Abby had made to her if anything happened. She knew that the first places Thomas would go after Shayla would be Gibbs’ place and Ducky’s. And she trusted that Ziva would kill for Shayla if she had to.

“What are we doing Boss? And where’s Ziva?” Tony asked.
“We’re going to Abby’s house.”
“Why?”
“To investigate. What we do.” Gibbs reminded him as he grabbed his Sig out of the drawer and started for the elevator.
“Okay.” Tony said. “I thought we weren’t allowed to investigate this.”
“We weren’t supposed to investigate when you were prison either. But we did and it got you out.”

“Anything?” Ziva asked as she called Tony’s cell.
“Not that we know of yet. It was a mess at Abby’s. Took us hours just to collect everything destroyed in the kitchen.”
“Anything promising?”
“A recording MP3.” He said.
“What does that mean?”
“Abby recorded something. Wont know until we get back to the lab. It’s damaged.”
“Let me know.”

He will sell your soul to bitterness and cold
Fear him

Abbyforever

TITLE: FEAR: PART 3- CAN'T KEEP ME DOWN
Song: 18 wheeler by P!nk
Warnings: Abuse, domestic abuse, violence etc etc.
Style: Tarantino style (jumping from now to ten years ago and other etc)
Pairing: Abby/OMC
Disclaimer: I own Thomas and Shayla. No one else.

PART 4. “Can’t keep me down”

Hey, hey, man! What's your problem?
I see you tryin' to hurt me bad
Don't know what you're up against
Maybe you should reconsider
Come up with another plan
Cuz you know I'm not that kinda girl
That'll lay there and let you come first

“But you couldn’t leave well enough alone, could you? Could you?!” Chip said advancing on Abby with a knife. Not the best idea.
He was yet another man that had thought he could bring her down easily. Perhaps because she wore pigtails in her hair, or perhaps because she could look so innocent and helpless one moment before pouncing.
Not a good idea at all. Chipper had ended up on the ground covered in Caf-Pow, his head duck-taped to his back and his arms bound around his body.

Billy-Bob was another. He’d tried to run her over inside with her own motor-bike. That didn’t end well for him either.

Or Mikel Mower. That was an example of what her friends could do for her when someone was after her.

The problem was that every single time a guy tried to hurt her or take her down, she flashed back to Thomas. Any time he scarred her.

Can't keep me down
Can't keep me down, down
Can't keep me down
I said you can't keep me down

So every time she kicked some ass, she was healing herself. Vanessa was living vicariously through Abby to defend herself. Abby saw the weak, blonde woman crying on the floor until he left her alone in her pain. Her frail form battered and marked. It was never going to happen to Abby. Never.

“And don’t look up my skirt!” She yelled at Terry Spooner as he continued to scream on the ground. She zapped him again with the tazer for good measure, or another sadistic reason, she wasn’t sure which.
“Okay.” Gibbs said after laughing. As helpless and afraid as she acted, she was perfectly capable of defending herself, well. And he had always suspected that there was a reason for that. Abby seemed to enjoy luring men into a false sense of power with her until brutally emasculating them.
With nothing to do with her attire or general appearance, he could always feel a certain darkness around her. It could have very easily been missed with the sunny disposition she propelled so well, but he knew from his own experience. Knew that look in her eyes.

Agent Gibbs,

You don’t know me so let me introduce myself. My name is Thomas Caldwell. I regret to inform you that you have a fugitive amongst your staff.

Now, I understand that you know the pain of losing a child. So, you could see my problem with my wife taking my daughter away from me for 12 years. I have not spoken to her since she was four. I do not care to have my wife back, you can keep her there at NCIS. But she should be charged for her crimes and for that I need your help. I also understand, that is what you do. Bring the criminals to justice.

So I implore you, as a father, as a special agent, as a man. Is Abigail Sciuto really worth losing your job? She has lied to you for years. Since the moment you met her, since she got her job.

Vanessa Caldwell to the law, Abby Sciuto to you. Guilty of assault, kidnapping, fraud, theft and I’m sure you can come up with other laws pertaining to the Government job she fraudulently obtained.

Vanessa is quite charming to get what she wants. She is also dangerous, especially under the influence of the addictions she demands. You most likely wouldn’t believe that this woman could fool you, Special Agent Gibbs. That is why the attached photos can make that definite to you.

The only contact I have had with my little girl, Shayla since the night Vanessa shot me and took off, has been through a private investigator. I can not afford to take her to court, and as good as she is at convincing people of how innocent she is, I cannot lose my little girl again.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Yours truly,

Thomas Caldwell.

Gibbs opened the attachments with help from a passing agent. There were photographs. After a second he realized they were all of his Abby. She looked very much the same, that the pictures could have been taken the week before. Except the hair and lack of tattoos.

Everywhere that I go
There's someone waitin' to chain me
Everything that I say
There's someone tryin' to short-change me
I am only this way
Because of what you have made me
And I'm not gonna break!

“Get out of my house!” Abby said as she walked deeper into the kitchen. She eyed the knife-block she kept next to the stove but it was empty.
“Can’t have you armed again, Vanessa.” He said laughing, not moving slightly. “You’re a lot feistier than I remember, but then again you were pointing a gun at me. So, perhaps not.” Thomas said, a little comfortable for Abby’s liking.
“Scared you away for twelve years, so I guess feisty works for me.” She sneered, trying to match his confidence.
“And I must say, I did like the red. I can even deal with the black hair you’ve got going on now, but blonde truly is your color, Vanessa.”
“It’s not Vanessa. You can’t push me around anymore.” Abby said putting her hands on her hips.

“Are you okay, Shayla?” Ducky asked as the teenaged girl sat quietly at the table. He knew that it wasn’t that she was shy, she was doing the Abby-overthinking thing.
“Yeah, I’m fine.” She said unconvincingly. She put on a smile for the man she only met when her mother had driven her to this man’s house. He hugged Abby and greeted her so lovingly that Shayla knew that they were obviously close. She really wanted to meet this Gibbs though, that she had heard so much about.
“What seems to be bothering you, my dear?” He asked. “You have that same look as your Mom when she’s over-thinking.”
“I’m just a little worried about my Mom. What if he shows up there?”
“If I have learned anything knowing your mother, it is that she can defend herself incredibly well. Plus, she is not alone in this anymore.” He said.
“Yeah, she said she has really great friends now.”

Hey, hey, girl! Are you ready for today?
You got your shield and sword?
Cuz its time to play the games
You are beautiful
Even though you’re not for sure
Don't let him pull you by the scar
You're gonna get your feelings hurt

“Where’s my baby?” He asked standing up and stepping closer to her. “Where’s Shayla?”
“Safe. No where you will ever get her.” Abby said, now happy that with her preference of boots, she was the one with the height advantage and he couldn’t intimidate her with it anymore.
“I think I will.” Thomas said. “Do you truly think that Donald and Victoria Mallard are the best security you could have given my daughter?” Thomas threw in. “And if you think that harming me will do you any good, you should think about this. I may not be the only one that followed you to D.C. and that this other person may be on his way right now to pick up Shayla.”
“You bastard!” Abby yelled, swinging at the man. He ducked away quickly before she made contact with his head. That threw her off balance enough that he could grab her arm and throw her to the ground. He kicked her in the stomach, his old choice of violence.

”You’re nothing, Vanessa! Nothing but a lousy wife and mother!

She heard him yelling. Abby flashed back as Vanessa to fifteen years previous when this was a daily occurrence. And she lay there like always until she heard the voice of her little girl, that night when he hurt her and shattered her faith in her father. “Mommy, why did Daddy hurt me?”

She also believed Thomas had sent someone to get Shayla so as soon as she got rid of Thomas, she could call for back-up and get her out safely.

Angrily, Abby shook her head to clear her thoughts, and focused on where he was hurting her. He was punching her, kneeling over her. She got pissed and punched him in the throat with her hand covered in spiked rings. One pierced the skin and he yelled in pain as blood trickled down his neck.
“Ow, you bitch!” He yelled.
“So you do bleed red?” She asked sarcastically, elbowing his arm so he fell to the ground. She got up, picked up one of her chairs, smashing it violently over the man. “I never would have thought.” She continued as she quickly threw her three inch heeled, buckle covered boot into his stomach for a taste of his own medicine. “Not just dressed to be cute.”
“I’ll kill you, I swear.” Thomas swore loudly. Abby dropped her foot again, this time not in his stomach, and this time he screamed out in pain.
“Like I said, not Vanessa.”

You know you can't keep me down
I said you can't keep me down

“Donald, what is that sound?” Victoria asked her son. Ducky woke up at her voice and so did Shayla. They had fallen asleep on the large plush furniture in the living room.
“It’s the door, Mother. I’ll get it.” He said, getting up without hesitation. He opened the door expecting Abby or Gibbs. Instead there was a man he had never seen before, with a look he had. He was pushed to the ground hard before he could close the door on the man.
“Who are you?” Shayla asked as the man started approaching her.
“Shayla, I assume?” The man asked, sneering as he pulled a gun out of his belt.
“Stay away from me.” She yelled. Ducky had been knocked out when he hit the ground.

“Gibbs, no one is answering the phone at Ducky’s.” Abby said in a panic as she bolted out the door. She had used her cell to call Gibbs as soon as she had Thomas unconscious and locked in her house, restrained to the kitchen. “Thomas sent someone there and they’re going after Shayla, we have to get there before…” She started to ramble until Gibbs stopped her.
“I know, Abs. Shayla’s fine, and Ducky’s woken with a mild concussion. William Shullen has been shot once each by Ziva and Tony. He’s alive but critical.”
“What? How did all this…”
“You think I would let anything happen to her? Ziva and Tony were there since you dropped her off earlier.”
“Thank God. And thank you so much, Gibbs.”
“Abs?”
“Yeah.”
“Don’t leave us out of this anymore.” He said, appearing behind her as she reached for her car door. She hung up the phone when she knew he was there.
“I wont. I promise.” Abby said hugging him with all her appreciation. “Thank you so much, Gibbs.”

You can run over me with your 18 wheeler but
You can't keep me down, down, down, down

Abbyforever

TITLE: FEAR: PART 3- ANYWHERE
Song: Anywhere by Evanescence
Warnings: Abuse, domestic abuse, violence etc etc.
Style: Tarantino style (jumping from now to ten years ago and other etc)
Pairing: Abby/OMC
Disclaimer: I own Thomas and Shayla. No one else.
Author's note: Like I mentioned in the style (that it appears some are having trouble with) the story does not go in order. Which means that part 2 doesn't have to neccessarily continue on from part one. But it will make sense when read properly. I promise.

PART 3. “Anywhere.”

Dear my love, haven't you wanted to be with me
And dear my love, haven't you longed to be free
I can't keep pretending that I don't even know you
And at sweet night, you are my own
Take my hand

“Mommy, what are you doing?” Shayla said when she woke up hearing her mother in her room. The four year old rubbed the sleep out of her eyes to be able to see better.
“Nothing, baby. Go back to sleep.”
“Why are you taking my clothes?”
“Shh.” Vanessa said putting her finger to her lips. “Daddy’s trying to sleep and we don’t want to wake him up, do we?” She asked.
“No.”
“Wait here for a bit. Then you and I are going out?”
“Where are we going?” Shayla asked.
“Just out.” Vanessa said grabbing the bag. “Stay here for a minute and wait for me to come back.”
“Okay, Mommy.”

Vanessa silently took Shayla’s bag to her car. She put it in the boot next to her own, as well as some pictures she took straight off the wall. None of Thomas, just some of Shayla as a baby and more recently, and some of them together. But none of Thomas. Vanessa quietly made her way back into the house and navigated her way around in the dark back toward Shayla’s room, right next to the one she shared with Thomas. Where he was asleep right now. It had been another pleasant evening that has escalated when Vanessa told Thomas that she had decided to go back to college, now that Shayla was old enough and about to start pre-school.

Unlock your heart
Drop your guard
No one's left to stop you

**FLASHBACK**

“What are you talking about?” Thomas asked.
“Forensic science. I want to study it. I am so fascinated with…” Vanessa started.
“No. It’s not going to happen.”
“Excuse me.” Vanessa said. She knew he wouldn’t lash out at the dinner table with Shayla there. He never had.
“You’re not going anywhere. Get used to that fact. You’re a wife and mother. That’s all.”
“Thomas, this is what I want to do.” She tried, keeping her voice calm for the little girl witnessing this conversation.
“Then it’s a shame it’s not going to happen.” He said equally calm. “Shayla, sweetheart. Go to your room for a minute.”
“Okay, daddy.” The little girl said smiling before walking into the other room. That was the only indication she needed to know to be afraid. She got up quickly and backed away from the table but he was faster and stronger and the advantage had her on the ground before she knew what happened. She yelped as her head hit the ground, but otherwise knew not to make a sound.
“You were saying?” He asked as he had his hand clamped around her throat.
“I’m sorry.” She croaked through his grip. He slapped her hard and let go of her neck, dropping her to the ground. He kicked her in the stomach, effectively winding her. He reached for something off the dinner table and Vanessa knew that whatever it was, it was not going to be good. Shayla ran back into the room to get her drink, and screamed when she saw her mother on the ground with her father standing over her with a knife.
“Leave Mommy alone.” She said grabbing her father’s arm. He didn’t expect it and pushed her away in response. She fell onto the ground and started crying, more from the shock than anything else. Thomas then stormed out of the house.
“Baby, are you okay?” Vanessa asked as she quickly got up, despite the pain, to comfort the little girl.

**END OF FLASHBACK**

That was the moment Vanessa decided it was more than time to leave. He had put his hands on Shayla. That was the line.

We're leaving here tonight
There's no need to tell anyone
They'd only hold us down
So by the morning light
We'll be half way to anywhere

“Come on, Shay. We’re going.” Vanessa whispered as she crept back into the little girl’s room.
“Okay, Mommy.” She said as Vanessa slipped her jacket on and shoes. She picked her up to ensure no extra noise. She got to the door, that had been left open when she put the bags in the car, and put Shayla on the ground.
“Shayla, baby.” Thomas said. Vanessa nearly screamed when she heard that voice.
“Yes, Daddy.” She said turning to him. She was still a little shaken from the incident earlier, seeing a different side to her father, one that scared her.
“Come here, honey.”
“No, Shayla, get in the car.” Vanessa said instantly.
“But…”
“That’s okay. Go get in the car. I’ll be right there.” Vanessa promised and Shayla ran off to the car. As soon as she did, Thomas dragged her back into the house, slamming the door. He punched her to the ground and kicked her again.
“Where are you going, darling?” He asked, his voice completely calm and normal.
“Thomas, leave me alone.” Vanessa screamed.
“And where in the hell do you think you’re taking my little girl?” He asked, picking her up from the ground by her hair.
“I mean it, Thomas. Let me go!”
“Or what?” He asked, letting go of her blonde locks.
“Or this. Keep your fucking hands off me and my daughter.” She threatened after producing a gun from her belt.
“You don’t have the guts, Vanessa.” He taunted, reaching for the weapon. She fired and the bullet hit him in the arm. “You bitch!”
“Remember that feeling. Now, I am going to walk out that door and drive away. Don’t look for us, I swear, this is not going to end well.”
“You shot me. You have no idea how bad this can get, Vanessa.” He yelled, grabbing his arm. “First thing I’ll take from you is Shayla.”
“We’ll see.” She said walking out the door with the gun pointed at him. She ran to the car, knowing that by now he would be calling the police or any of his goonies to follow them. One thing she learned from being married to money. Money always equaled power, and he had plenty of that.

“Mommy, what happened?” Shayla asked when she saw the gun in her mother’s hand as she ran to the car.
“Nothing, baby. Are you strapped in?”
“Yes.”
“Okay. We’re going to be driving for a long time tonight, so why don’t you grab your blanky and go to sleep for a while?”
“Okay, Mommy. Can we have some music on?” She asked.
“Absolutely.”

I have dreamt of a place for you and I
No one knows who we are there
All I want is to give my life only to you
I've dreamt so long I cannot dream anymore
Let's run away, I'll take you there

“Morning, Princess.” Vanessa said when the little girl started to wake up. She rubbed her eyes before opening them and looking around her. She always woke up silent and didn’t make a sound until she gathered her bearings, and Vanessa knew now that she was trying to figure out where they were and how they got there.
“Mommy.” Her little voice said.
“We’re at a hotel, Hun.”
“I had a bad nightmare about Daddy.” She said putting her head back down on the bed.
“Yeah, you did.”
“Mommy?”
“Yes.”
“Why are we here?” She asked. Vanessa sat done on the bed next to her daughter. It was time for a little truth.
“We can’t go home, baby. One day you’ll understand why. But for now, trust me.” Vanessa said brushing Shayla’s hair out of her face with her fingers.
“Okay.”

Forget this life
Come with me
Don't look back you're safe now

“Mother, why are we moving again?” The seven year old asked.
“We have to.” Vanessa, now known as Taylor, told the little girl.
“Okay.” She submitted but it was obvious she was not happy.

Vanessa had been trying to register for school and hadn’t had the proper identification as Taylor. She knew she had set off some kind of indicator to Thomas to where they were.

“So, now what?” Shayla asked as they moved into their new apartment.
“You can’t call me Taylor anymore. It’s Abby.”
“I never call you anything but Mom.”
“But if for some reason you need to tell someone my name, it’s Abby. Got it?” She asked.
“I got it.” Shayla said storming off to her new room.

“Name?” The college Administrator asked.
“Abigail Sciuto.”
“Okay, Abigail. I received your Highschool GPA from your school in New Orleans. Very impressive. As was your admissions essay.”
“Thanks.”
“Please fill out these forms and we’ll get you started on your admission.”
“Okay. Thank you very much.”

Unlock your heart
Drop your guard
No one's left to stop you now

“Can I help you?” Gibbs asked when he saw the woman sitting at his desk.
“I was told to come speak to you. I was applying for the job in the forensics lab and the Director said that I had to pass your test first.” The Goth woman said in a speed that impressed him.

When Vanessa had eventually become ‘Abby’, she changed her entire outlook on how she acted in life. Despite her clothes mainly consisting of black, she was now happy and finally satisfied with her life for the first time in many years. The tattoos she had accumulated through the years on the road with Shayla, were not hidden. If she didn’t get the job with the Navy guys she would just keep trying elsewhere. Abby had graduated early with Majors in Criminology and other Forensic sciences.

“Jethro Gibbs.” He said putting his hand out.
“Abigail Sciuto.” She said grabbing his hand with her own, spike-cuffed wrist. “But it’s Abby if you want to live.”
“I’ll try to remember that.” Gibbs said laughing. “You really don’t care to try and impress the Director?” He asked pointing toward her attire. She looked down to the plaid skirt with dripping chains, and black top that said ‘cruel’ in red on the front. Her gun-metal hair was in two high pigtails, showing off another tattoo at the side of her neck barely covered by the dog collar.
“If I got the job today because of the court suit I was wearing, then I would lose it tomorrow for coming in dressed like this. Gotta put all my cards on the table to start with.”
“Good way to put it.”
“Has my dress sense left a bad impression of you, Agent Gibbs?” Abby asked.
“No. How good are you at your job?” He asked flat out.
“Whatever you need me to do in the lab, I can do. I am published twice now in forensics journals and have graduated two years early with Majors in several forensic sciences. What else do you need to know?”
“What time you can start.”
“Immediately.” She said instantly.
“Good answer. I’ll take you to your lab.”

Abbyforever
